Four-Lane Concrete Roads Will Improve Traffic and Enhance Connectivity – Minister Chhagan Bhujbal

Nashik : State Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Chhagan Bhujbal has emphasized that the construction of four-lane concrete roads using available funds will improve traffic flow and reduce accidents. He made these remarks during the Bhoomipujan ceremony for the concreting of the Pimplas to Yevala, Lasalgaon-Vinchur-Khedlejunge four-lane road at Winchur Chauphuli in Niphad taluka.

The event was attended by MLA Dilip Bankar, former MP Sameer Bhujbal, Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department Arundhati Sharma, Chief Engineer Prashant Ooty, Sub-Divisional Officer Hemangi Patil, Tehsildar Vishal Naikwadi, Group Development Officer Umesh Patil, and Sarpanch Sachin Darekar.

Minister Bhujbal announced that ₹560 crore has been allocated for the Pimplas to Yevala road, following four years of persistent efforts. He noted that Lasalgaon, which hosts the largest onion market in Asia, will benefit from ₹134 crore allocated for the Lasalgaon-Vinchur-Khedlejunge road to address the high accident rate on this route. Additionally, several roadworks, including Mumbai-Nashik and Nashik-Trimbakeshwar routes, have been completed. The 6 km road from Rui Fata to Khedlejunge will be constructed under CMGSY Phase 3 with an ₹80 crore fund expected to receive administrative approval soon. The budget will also include the 2 km road from Ruifata to Dharangaon.

Minister Bhujbal highlighted the Shiva Srishti Project in Yevala city, which aims to commemorate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The ₹21 crore project, covering five acres, is set to be inaugurated on September 26, 2024. The statue will arrive on September 22, and Minister Bhujbal urged citizens to participate in the celebrations.

Further, the Sola village water supply scheme, including Lasalgaon-Vinchur, is being renewed, with efforts to secure an additional ₹10 crore for the project. This will address the drinking water issues in the area. Similar schemes are underway for 16 villages, including Dhulgaon and 41 villages, including Rajapur. An ₹13.5 crore fund has been allocated for the Lasalgaon Upazila Hospital, and ₹27 crore has been approved for cleaning the Lasalgaon Shivani and Winchur Longanga rivers. Funds for the Lasalgaon Outer Ring Road are approved, with work expected to complete by March. The Bokadara-Khedlejunge road’s width will be increased from 5.5 meters to 7 meters, improving communication on this route.

The Bhoomipujan ceremony included the following works:

  • Concreting of the four-lane road from Pimplas to Yevala (₹560 crore)
  • Concreting of Chandwad Boundary–Lasalgaon to Vinchur Chaupadri Road and Mhasoba Matha Dharangaon Sarole to Khedlejunge Road (₹134 crore)

The total fund of ₹560 crore for the Pimplas to Yevala four-lane road and ₹134 crore for the Chandwad area-Lasalgaon to Vinchur and Mhasoba Matha Dharangaon Sarole to Khedlejunge roads aims to enhance connectivity and address high traffic volumes and accident rates.
