Guardian Minister Chandrakant (Dada) Patil to Provide Funds for the Development of Chikhaldara as a Tourist Destination

Amravati : On the lines of Mahabaleshwar, Chikhaldara, a picturesque hill station, will be developed as a renowned tourist destination across the country. This development will also open up new employment opportunities for the locals. State Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Textiles, as well as Guardian Minister of the district, Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, has assured that funds will be provided from the District Planning Scheme and CSR Fund for this purpose.

The Guardian Minister visited the ‘Amzari Nature Tourism Complex’ and ‘Prakash Home Stay’ in Khatkali, both located in the Chikhaldara taluka, where he interacted with the youth involved in adventure sports. The discussions centered around employment, operations, and training in adventure sports.

Former MLA Prabhudas Bhilavekar, District Collector Saurabh Katiyar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Pankaj Kumawat, and officials from the Forest and Revenue departments were present during the visit.

Guardian Minister Patil noted that 20 local youths are involved in operating adventure sports at the Amzari Nature Tourism Complex, earning a stipend of approximately ₹10,000 each. He emphasized that similar efforts should be made to provide employment to locals in their own areas. This includes processing and producing goods from locally available natural resources, such as specialty products, millets, khapli wheat, honey, khoya, and mahua flowers. The district administration will make funds available for these initiatives. Amzari is known as the “Village of Honey,” and the Minister suggested establishing a marketing center for various honey-based products. He expressed confidence that such initiatives would create jobs for locals and lead to the development of rural areas in Melghat.

The Guardian Minister also visited the ‘Prakash Home Stay’ owned by Prakash Jambhekar in Khatkali, where he reviewed the accommodation and dining facilities for tourists. He also learned about the coffee project and its production. Additionally, he visited the ‘Shivsphurti Processing Foundation’ in Shahapur, supported by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission.

Guardian Minister’s Visit to Chikhaldara Rural Hospital

During his visit, the Guardian Minister also reviewed the medical facilities at the Chikhaldara Rural Hospital. He inquired about the condition of cholera patients who had been admitted following an outbreak in the Hatru village.

A few days ago, a cholera outbreak occurred in Hatru village, and the Health Department immediately responded by admitting patients to the rural hospital for treatment. Of the admitted patients, ten have recovered and been discharged, while the condition of the remaining patients is reported to be stable, according to the medical officials.
