High Authority Committee to Submit Report within a Week – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Instructions

In light of the agitation called by the State Transport Corporation’s trade unions starting on August 9, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting with the ST Corporation Action Committee today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the High Authority Committee to convene and submit a report within a week addressing the committee’s demands.

The Chief Minister also expressed the state government’s positive stance on acquiring two thousand new buses to increase the corporation’s income.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. I. S. Chahal, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary to Transport Department Sanjay Sethi, Additional Chief Secretary to Finance Department O. P. Gupta, and Action Committee members Sandeep Shinde and Hanumant Tate were present at the meeting.

The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s positive outlook towards the corporation employees’ demands. He instructed that a meeting be held with the high-powered committee to assess the financial implications of these demands and how to address them. The Chief Minister also directed that the meeting be held immediately and the report submitted to the government within a week.

The detailed discussions included various demands such as paying the seventh pay commission to the employees, eliminating discrepancies in the previous salary increases, paying arrears of dearness allowance, correcting errors in previous contracts, and applying the medical cashless scheme to all employees. Other topics of discussion were changes in disciplinary measures and application methods, and treating corporation workers similarly to state government employees.
