Inauguration of Sitarama Project Pump 2 : CM Reddy

Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy inaugurated Sitarama Lift Scheme and switched on the lift project’s pumps at Pusugudem in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Thursday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister addressed a press conference.

Highlights:

Government fulfilled the aspirations of the Khammam district people by completing the Sitarama lift scheme. Thank you all for participating in such a big event of the inauguration of the lift project.

Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy already explained how the Rajeev Sagar and Indira Sagar project were taken up and also the enhancement of the estimations of the Sitarama project.

It is a delightful moment and also facing pressure on the allocation of adequate funds for projects in Khammam district. The other districts are mounting pressure for allocating huge funds to the old Khammam district.

Many projects have been pending in the fluoride affected Nalgonda district. We gave priority to Khammam and came forward to complete the projects.

KCR government spent Rs 1.80 lakh crore on irrigation projects during the 10 years rule. Today, the former MLAs of KCR party staged dharna and sat on diksha. The BRS party MLAs tight-lipped on irrigation facilities when KCR was CM for 10 years and Harish Rao held the Irrigation portfolio for five years. The MLAs were aware of KCR and his son- in-law Harish Rao’s bogus statements.

KCR and Harish Rao focused on other things. The duo planned to swindle crores of rupees of public money by redesigning the projects. The two leaders were least bothered about providing irrigation water.

Earlier, I reviewed the status of Khammam irrigation projects. The district ministers told me that an irrigation facility can be provided to 1.20 lakh acres at low cost. Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao said Khammam district does not require river Krishna water if Godavari water is supplied to the district.

Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy reviewed every two weeks and paid special focus on the completion of the Sitarama project. Explained to Prime Minister Modi about the inefficiency of KCR in the utilization of irrigation water. Uttam and myself met with the union minister for Jal Shakti also.

KCR government did not make public the project DPRs fearing the loot of public money will come to light. Center has not given permissions to the project due to non submission of the DPRs. My government made all out efforts to seek permissions by overcoming the hurdles.

Farmers reposed faith in Thummala Nageswara Rao and gave their lands for the construction of projects. Along with the leaders, farmers also came forward for the completion of the project.

Harish Rao claimed 90 per cent of the project works were completed during the BRS rule .

The then Congress government had estimated the Dummugudem project at 4,000 crores. After the formation of Telangana, seven mandals and also the Indira Sagar were given to AP.

The project should have been completed at the cost of 1500 crores. But the estimation has been increased to Rs 18,000 crores. KCR government spent Rs 7500 crores on Sitarama project. If the previous government completed 90 per cent of the works , the BRS leaders should clarify the expenditure incurred on the project so far.

The works were not completed in an orderly manner. The BRS leaders took commissions by giving orders to buy pumps and motors. The motors have been lying neglected for the last 4 years. Government reviewed the status of pump sets and motors. Gave power connections and turned on the motors.

After six months of hard work, pumps started working . Mother Godavari blessed all of you by flowing on the Khammam soil. Everything went smoothly because our thoughts are clear and pure.

Arrived in Khammam on Independence Day to dedicate the project to the district people . Minister Ponguleti brought water from Nagarjuna Sagar toi Palair. Uttam Kumar Reddy is facing pressure from his Nalgonda district.

Harish Rao is making false allegations to project my government in a bad light. What has Harish Rao done for ten years? We have done in six months what could not be done in ten years. People slapped the BRS in elections.

BRS lost deposits in two Lok Sabha constituencies in Khammam district. The KCR family destroyed Telangana economy like wild pigs. Rs 6500 crores interest is being paid every month for the debts incurred by KCR.

Despite facing a financial crisis, the government sanctioned funds to Khammam projects. We ignored KCR and Harish Rao who speak cheaply.

KCR is a soiled currency note. KCR and Harish Rao should visit the project and sprinkle Godavari water on their heads.

Appealing to Tummala Nageshwara Rao to send two bottles of Godavari water to KCR .
