India’s Progress Through Digital Technology Will Brighten the Future of Democracy – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar

Nagpur : India was once referred to as the “Slipping Giant,” but we have now completely erased that identity, achieving remarkable progress in technology. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized that the advancements India has made in education and digital technology will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of democracy.

The Vice President was speaking at a special ceremony organized to unveil and inaugurate the cornerstone of the Digital Tower at Ramdev Baba University. Present on the occasion were Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, former Governor Banwarilal Purohit, President of the Ramdev Baba Public Committee Satyanarayan Nuwal, Chancellor Dr. S.S. Mantha, Vice-Chancellor Dr. R.S. Pandey, Secretary Rajendra Purohit, and other dignitaries.

As the world celebrates International Day of Democracy today, the Vice President underscored the significance of quality education in strengthening democratic systems. He remarked that education is a service imbued with a sense of social responsibility and lauded Ramdev Baba Shiksha Sansthan for fostering ideal students rather than commercializing education.

Vice President Dhankhar also explained that technology presents both challenges and opportunities. He urged students to rise to the occasion and transform these challenges into opportunities, citing technologies like quantum computing and green hydrogen as future game-changers.

Digital Technology’s Role in Curbing Corruption – Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in his address, highlighted India’s rapid progress towards becoming a five trillion-dollar economy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. India is currently the third-largest economy in the world, and the digital economy has been a significant driver of this progress. Fadnavis asserted that digital technology has been instrumental in curbing corruption by ensuring that beneficiaries of government schemes receive their entitlements directly, without intermediaries.

Fadnavis further remarked that the digital revolution in India is garnering worldwide attention, and a new frontier in technology has been opened through artificial intelligence. This technology, now reaching even rural areas, presents vast opportunities, but there is a pressing need for skilled manpower, for which universities play a crucial role.

Fadnavis expressed confidence that students from institutions like Ramdev Baba University, which was built on the principles of sacrifice, will contribute significantly to the nation’s development.

Former Governor Banwarilal Purohit reflected on the journey of Ramdev Baba College, which began with three engineering sheds and has now grown into a prestigious university. He proudly noted that the institution boasts 300 highly qualified teachers, with 200 holding doctorates. Purohit also emphasized the importance of imparting the simple life lessons of Mahatma Gandhi to students. Satyanarayan Nuwal, President of the Ramdev Baba Public Committee, shared his thoughts on the occasion.

Earlier, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, along with his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, planted trees in the university premises as part of the ‘Ek Ped Man Ke Naam’ campaign. The dignitaries also paid tribute to Ramdev Baba by offering garlands to his image.
