In preparation for the Lok Sabha election of 2024, the Maha Vikas Aghadi has reached a pivotal agreement on seat-sharing in Maharashtra. According to Sena MP Sanjay Raut, the distribution stands with Shiv Sena (UBT) contesting on 21 seats, Congress on 17, and NCP (SP) on 10. However, the Congress found itself excluded from the Sangli, Mumbai South Central, and Bhiwandi constituencies in this arrangement.

This significant development was unveiled in a joint press conference, graced by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar. Pawar emphasized the absence of any remaining discrepancies, stating, “We declared the seat sharing after mutual agreement.”

The allocated constituencies for Shiv Sena (UBT) include a diverse array of regions such as Jalgaon, Parbhani, Nashik, Palghar, Kalyan, Thane, Raigad, Maval, Osmanabad, Aurangabad, Ratnagiri, Buldhana, Hatkanangale, Shirdi, Sangli, Hingoli, Yavatmal-Washim, Mumbai North West, Mumbai South Central, Mumbai South and Mumbai North Eas. Likewise, Congress secured constituencies like Nandurbar, Dhule, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Chandrapur, Nanded, Jalna, Pune, Latur, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ramtek, Mumbai North and Mumbai North Central, encompassing a broad geographical spread.

Meanwhile, the NCP (SP) secured constituencies including Baramati, Shirur, Satara, Bhiwandi, Dindori, Madha, Raver, Wardha, Ahmednagar and Beed. Uddhav Thackeray, commenting on the distribution, acknowledged the expectations of various parties but stressed the importance of adhering to the criteria set forth and aiming for victory in the allotted seats.

Looking ahead, the BJP Shiv Sena, under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, have indicated that they will unveil the names of all candidates imminently. This announcement sets the stage for a fiercely contested election, with each party strategically positioning itself to maximize its representation in the Lok Sabha.

As Maharashtra braces itself for the electoral battle of 2024, the finalized seat-sharing agreement underscores the delicate balance of power and the intricate dynamics at play within the state’s political landscape. With each party vying for supremacy, the stage is set for a riveting electoral showdown that will shape the future trajectory of Maharashtra’s political narrative.
