‘Maharashtra Mazha’ Photo, Reels, and Short Film Competition Announced

Mumbai : To showcase Maharashtra’s progress through visual and audio-visual mediums, the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations has announced the ‘Maharashtra Mazha’ photo, reels, and short film competition. This competition focuses on the state’s ancient and historical heritage, as well as various significant government schemes.

Participants are invited to submit photographs, reels, and short films that depict Maharashtra’s agricultural, educational, social, cultural, water conservation, water resources, infrastructure, health, tourism, environment, and forestry initiatives.

Prizes of Rs. 25,000, Rs. 20,000, and Rs. 15,000 will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in each category, along with fifteen incentive prizes of Rs. 3,000 each. Quality photographs from this competition will be exhibited in the Trimurti premises of the Ministry and across the state. Additionally, selected reels and short films will be promoted through the government’s social media channels. An expert committee will be appointed to select the best entries for exhibition.

Contest Rules:

  1. Photography Contest:
    • Photographs should be of a standard size of 18×30 inches in HD.
    • The theme must align with the topic provided by the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations.
    • The photograph must be original.
    • The photograph should not contain any inappropriate visuals.
    • No copyrighted material should be used.
    • A detailed description of the photograph is required.
    • The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations will own the rights to all submitted photographs.
  2. Reels Competition:
    • Reels should be no longer than 1 minute.
    • Indecent language or offensive words are prohibited.
    • Participants must ensure that no copyright is infringed.
    • Only one entry per participant is allowed.
    • The competition is open to those aged 18 and above.
    • Reels must be in standard format and newly created for this competition.
    • The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations will retain ownership rights to all submitted reels.
  3. Short Film Competition:
    • Short films should be between 3 to 5 minutes in length.
    • The competition is open to those aged 18 and above.
    • The short film must be newly created specifically for this competition.
    • Participants must avoid the use of foul language, violence, or offensive content.
    • Entries must adhere to the themes and guidelines set by the Government of Maharashtra.
    • Only one entry per participant is allowed.
    • The short film should be in MP4 HD 1920×1080 format, suitable for YouTube/X format.
    • The short film can be in Marathi, Hindi, or English and must be submitted in HD format.
    • The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations will own the rights to all submitted short films.
