Maharashtra’s New Role Model for Women Empowerment – President Draupadi Murmu

Udgir (Latur) : Maharashtra has a rich history of women’s contributions to social progress, led by figures like Rajmata Jijau and Savitribai Phule. Building on this legacy, the government has implemented strong measures to promote women’s economic empowerment and self-reliance. President Draupadi Murmu praised Maharashtra’s efforts, particularly the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, stating that the state has set a new standard for women’s empowerment in the country.

During the event, President Murmu highlighted Maharashtra’s initiatives under the Chief Minister’s Women Empowerment Mission, which includes the Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme and the Chief Minister’s Youth Work Training Scheme. She also lauded the state’s efforts to promote women’s rights and expressed her admiration for Maharashtra’s history of supporting women’s empowerment.

The program was chaired by Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan and attended by prominent leaders, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode, and Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare.

President Murmu also inaugurated the Vishwashanti Buddha Vihara in Udgir and interacted with the many women present. She expressed her satisfaction with the Majhi Ladki Baheen scheme and the positive results of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana. She encouraged women to take an active role in leadership, both politically and in their households, emphasizing that men should support women in achieving their full potential.

The Continuation of the Majhi Ladki Baheen Scheme – Chief Minister Shinde

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised President Murmu’s journey, calling it an inspiration for women across the country. He confirmed that the Majhi Ladki Baheen scheme would continue, along with other government initiatives like the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Chief Minister Youth Work Training Program, and Free Higher Education for Girls.

Shinde assured the public that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on track to becoming an economic superpower, with Maharashtra playing a key role in this progress. He emphasized the state’s commitment to women’s empowerment and promised that none of the schemes benefiting women would be discontinued.

Protecting the Constitution – Ramdas Athawale and Devendra Fadnavis

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale affirmed the government’s dedication to upholding the constitution, ensuring that no changes would be made. He encouraged women to contribute to the state’s development by becoming financially empowered.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis echoed these sentiments, stating that India’s constitution is among the best in the world and that both the central and state governments work in alignment with its principles. He highlighted several initiatives, such as securing Chaityabhoomi and purchasing Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s house in London, which reflect the government’s commitment to honoring India’s history.

Fadnavis concluded by reaffirming the importance of women’s involvement in India’s development goals and ensuring the continuation of women-centric schemes.
