Nursing Work is Paramount in Life – Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar

Chandrapur : “No matter how wealthy a person may be, even the finest food becomes bitter when they have a fever. Prioritizing wealth over health is futile, as true well-being can only be achieved by maintaining a balanced life. Health camps and proper medical guidance are crucial in sustaining good health. Our spirituality and culture emphasize the importance of patient care, making it a paramount responsibility in life,” stated District Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.

He was speaking at a free general health camp organized at Saint Mary’s High School, Durgapur. Among those present on the platform were District Surgeon Dr. Mahadev Chinchole, District Health Officer Dr. Ashok Katare, Dr. Sourav Aggarwal from Asha Hospital, Dr. Bhoyer from Ossar Cancer Hospital, Dr. Jitendra Yadav from Shankara Super Hospital, Jaihari Singh Thakur of Asha Hospital, Father Joysen, Principal of Carmel Academy, Sister Tomsi of St. Mary’s, Medical Officer Komal Muneshwar, along with other government employees.

“The joy derived from successfully treating patients through health camps is incomparable. The blessings received from patients are a powerful source of positive energy. This virtue of patient care will benefit us not only in this life but in many lives to come,” Mungantiwar expressed.

He emphasized that providing patient care transcends caste, race, and color, leaving a lasting legacy. “This service becomes a bonus point in your life, and we are always ready for such noble service. In this constituency, health camps, programs for the disabled, and services for the poor are continually being organized. I have also doubled the grant under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana,” the Minister said.

Mungantiwar also highlighted the state’s welfare initiatives, noting that “1,500 rupees are being directly deposited into the accounts of 2 crore 48 lakh mothers and sisters across the state, thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. These women, who previously struggled to afford healthcare, are now supported under the Jeevandaya Yojana. With such schemes, the women of the state will no longer need to seek help from others. They will stand strong and self-reliant in society. Our true religion should be the religion of humanity,” he asserted.

Cancer Hospital in the District

Mungantiwar announced that a 140-bed cancer hospital is being established in the district, which will greatly benefit the local population. A Dharamshala will also be built to support patients and their families. He added that the aim is to make this facility a “temple of health” for all in the region.

Services for Disabled and Eye Patients

“We have provided patient care as if they were our own family members,” Mungantiwar said. He mentioned that in previous eye treatment camps, 50,000 patients were examined, over 5,000 cataract surgeries were performed, and more than 35,000 pairs of eyeglasses were distributed.

Free Heart Surgery for Children

“While private hospitals charge up to Rs 10 lakh for pediatric heart surgeries, these surgeries were provided free of charge by the team at Fortis Hospital in Mumbai,” Mungantiwar mentioned. He added that 60 children, aged between 2 and 10 years, underwent successful operations. “The happiness on the children’s faces after the surgeries was truly satisfying,” the Guardian Minister expressed.

The event was attended by former Zilla Parishad members Rampal Singh, Hanuman Kakade, Anita Bhoyer, Kema Raipure, Roshni Khan, Panchayat Samiti members, and others.
