Pay special attention to quality rice: Food Minister Mr. Baghel

Raipur : Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel held a review meeting of officials in the meeting room of Food Civil Supplies Corporation today. Food Department Secretary Shri Basavaraju S. Special Secretary Shri KD Kunjam and Food Civil Supplies Corporation officials were present on this occasion.

Food Minister Mr. Baghel said that the responsibility and priority of the department is to ensure food security to the poor and needy citizens of the state under the public distribution system and to provide ration through fair price shops on time. Instructions have been given to supply gram, jaggery, sugar, ration etc. on time in remote areas. He said that any kind of negligence in the supply, storage and distribution of food items will not be tolerated. The Food Minister has given strict instructions to pay special attention to the quality of rice and has asked to store and distribute quality rice in fair price shops, Anganwadi, school, hostel.

In the review meeting, the status of rice procurement against the target of Kharif marketing year 2023-24 and distribution of gram under the public distribution system were discussed. Other points including advance storage for sugar, salt and kerosene consumers before the rainy season were reviewed in detail.
