PM Modi to Release ₹20,000 Crore for PM-KISAN, Inaugurate Nalanda University Campus

Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, addressed a press conference to announce the release of the 17th instalment of approximately Rs 20,000 crore under the PM-KISAN scheme by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi will be visiting Varanasi on June 18, 2024, for the release of this instalment and to grant certificates to over 30,000 self-help groups as Krishi Sakhis.

The event, organized by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in coordination with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, will be attended by esteemed dignitaries, including the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, and various other ministers from the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The instalment will be transferred to 9.26 crore beneficiary farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer. To date, more than 11 crore eligible farmer families have received benefits totaling over three lakh crore rupees under the PM-KISAN scheme. During the event, the Prime Minister will also grant certificates to over 30,000 women from self-help groups, recognized as Krishi Sakhis.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on June 18 and 19. Tomorrow evening, the Prime Minister will witness the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat and will also perform pooja and darshan at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

On the morning of June 19, the Prime Minister will visit the ruins of Nalanda. Afterwards, he will inaugurate the campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir, Bihar, and address the gathering on the occasion.
