Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras in all district hospitals

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras in all district hospitals on the first day of Swachhta Hi Seva Fortnight 2024 starting from 17th September. This is an important step to provide affordable and quality generic medicines to the citizens. The launch of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in hospitals is a major step towards improving access to health services.

Among those who will be present in the ceremony to be held at 10 am at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in the capital Bhopal include Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing, Smt. Pratima Bagri and Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development, Smt. Radha Singh.

Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra Project was launched in 2008 to provide affordable and quality generic medicines. The scheme gained momentum after 2015. Its objective was to ensure access to affordable medicines across the country. Currently, under this project, Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened in the country, so that people in both rural and urban areas can avail the benefits of affordable generic medicines.

At present, more than 500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are operational in Madhya Pradesh. These Kendras have been established in both urban and rural areas, ensuring the availability of affordable medicines to all citizens. Thousands of people are buying cheap and quality medicines every day through these Kendras leading to huge savings in their monthly medical expenses. Now Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened in all the district hospitals also.

Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras

• The main objective is to provide quality generic medicines to everyone at affordable rates. Medicines will be available to patients at 50 percent to 90 percent lower prices than branded medicines.
• Rural and urban families will get affordable medicines. There will be huge savings in monthly medical expenses. It will be especially beneficial for economically weaker families.
• Affordable and accessible medicines will enable people to continue their treatment, which will improve their health outcomes. This center will play an important role, especially in the management of chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
• Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras will help generate awareness about the quality and effectiveness of generic medicines, due to which people will depend less on branded medicines and adopt cheaper generic medicines.
• Employment opportunities will also be generated at the local level. Pharmacists and other staff will be required to run each Kendra, which will create new employment opportunities in the state.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra is an important step towards providing affordable and accessible health services in the state. This center will play an important role in meeting the medical needs of the citizens of the state by providing them with affordable and quality medicines.

Griha Pravesh of 51 thousand PM Awas houses

The first day of Swachhta Hi Seva Fortnight 2024 will begin with the Griha Pravesh of 4 lakh houses in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) at the same place at 10.30 am. In these, Griha Pravesh of 51 thousand houses will take place in Madhya Pradesh. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2-0 will be inaugurated and PRAISE awards will be distributed under PM Swanidhi. Urban Development and Housing Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya will be the chief guest in this program. Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing, Smt. Pratima Bagri will preside over. Mayor of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Smt. Malti Rai, Chairperson of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Shri Kishan Suryavanshi will be specially present.
