Saitual Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Grand Event

Saitual : Today, India’s 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the nation, including a significant event at the Keifang Centenary Sports Complex in Saitual. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Minister Prof. Lalnilawma as the chief guest, who inspected the Parade Contingent comprising 14 units.

In his address, the chief guest, Minister Lalnilawma, emphasized the importance of this day, highlighting that Independence Day is a time to remember the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for India’s sovereignty. He urged the people of Saitual to take pride in their country and to contribute positively to its development.

During the Independence Day celebration, the Minister also urged citizens to support the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan,” encouraging everyone to lead a healthy life free from substance abuse. He stressed the importance of this initiative for the well-being of the youth and the future of the nation.

Minister Lalnilawma took the opportunity to highlight various government achievements in the Saitual district from September 2023 to July 2024, particularly under different departments. A detailed presentation of these initiatives was made, showcasing the government’s commitment to the district’s development.

The Independence Day event also included an award ceremony where Minister Lalnilawma presented awards to various individuals and groups for their exceptional contributions:

  1. Samuel Lalbiakhlua: Recognized for his achievement in completing a Paragliding Professional Course and setting a World Record as the youngest certified paraglider in the world.
  2. Inspector Lalnunzira: Awarded the “Padak Medal (Antrik Suraksha Seva)” for his dedicated service in Counter Insurgency / Inter Security Operations.
  3. T. Lalramnghaka: Headmaster of Govt. Selchhunga P/S Saitual, received the “Mizoram State Award to Teacher, 2024” for his outstanding teaching.
  4. PC Lalrinzuala: Honored with the Green Mizoram State Award for his exceptional efforts in environmental conservation.
  5. Laldingliana, PC Lalrinpuii, and Vanlalrinmawii Khiangte: Awarded for their projects at the 42nd State Level Science, Mathematics & Environment Exhibition 2024.
  6. Rebek Lalmawipuii and Lalhmangaihzuali: Recognized for their victory in the National Space Day Celebration Quiz 2024.
  7. Vanlalbela and Lalramdinpuii: Acknowledged for their achievements in the 15th Mizoram Shooting Championship 2024.

After the award ceremony, the event concluded with the Minister performing a traditional inspection of the parade. A special luncheon was organized for VIPs at DC Bangla.

Lastly, under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), Minister Lalnilawma distributed computer sets to the Local Administration Department (LAD) in Tawizo and Thingsul-Tlangnuamah.
