Mumbai, Aug 2026 : Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has begun shooting for the much-awaited fourth season of the hit web series Aashram, raising excitement among fans of the popular crime drama.
The production house, Prakash Jha Productions, announced the commencement of filming on Saturday through its official Instagram account. The post featured a clapperboard marked “Aashram 4”, placed inside a place of worship, along with the caption, “Ek Aur aarambh …Aashram ke naye adhyay mein aapka swagat hai. Japnaam. Aashram 4 now filming!”
The announcement immediately generated strong reactions from viewers, with fans expressing their enthusiasm for the return of the series and its central character, Baba Nirala.
Bobby Deol is set to reprise his acclaimed role as Baba Nirala, the controversial self-styled godman whose rise to power forms the core of the series. The fourth season is expected to continue streaming on MX Player, following the platform’s association with the earlier instalments.
Several members of the original cast are also expected to return. Aaditi Pohankar will reprise her role as Pammi, while Chandan Roy Sanyal will return as Bhopa Swami. Darshan Kumar, Anupriya Goenka, Esha Gupta, Adhyayan Suman and Tridha Choudhury are also set to continue their respective roles.
Directed by Prakash Jha, Aashram revolves around Baba Nirala and the dark world surrounding his seemingly powerful spiritual empire. The series explores themes of blind faith, manipulation, crime, politics and exploitation, portraying how the godman uses influence and devotion to expand his control.
The first season premiered on MX Player on August 28, 2020, and quickly attracted a large audience. The second season followed on November 11 the same year, while the third season was released in June 2022.
With the previous seasons generating considerable popularity, expectations are high for the fourth chapter. The new season is likely to take forward several unresolved storylines while exploring the consequences of Baba Nirala's actions.
Meanwhile, Bobby Deol continues to maintain a busy professional schedule. Apart from Aashram 4, the actor has several projects in the pipeline, including Jana Nayagan, Teesvin Manzil, Desi Sherlock Holmes, The Huntersent and an upcoming untitled film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
