The Chief Minister held a brainstorming session with officials to guide the development of Jaipur into an exemplary model of urban growth
The CM directed officials to draft an effective plan for safe and smooth traffic, establish the Hitech City and Medicity as the identity of 'New Jaipur', and complete development work within strict timelines
Jaipur, November 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is fully committed to transforming Jaipur into an outstanding model of urban development. He brainstormed with relevant officials on Friday and issued key directives. During this meeting, he also reviewed the progress of the Jaipur Development Authority's (JDA) ongoing projects.
The Chief Minister directed that the development of Jaipur must cater to current requirements whilst keeping future needs in mind. The State Government aims to expand and properly organise infrastructure to develop Jaipur as an exemplary model.
He stated that an effective action plan must be formulated to ease the movement of commuters amidst growing traffic pressure in Jaipur. To achieve this, a plan should be drafted to make key points on the JLN Marg signal-free, ensuring smooth traffic flow. He added that the Traffic Improvement Plan must prioritise the safe movement of pedestrians and proper parking facilities. He also directed the Chief Minister's Secretary and departmental officials to carry out on-site inspections in the field.
Hitech City to be Equipped with Modern Technology and World-Class Facilities
Regarding the Hitech City project, the Chief Minister noted that Jaipur’s proximity to Delhi and the strong presence of non-resident Rajasthanis across the country and the world offer new opportunities for growth and investment. Keeping these prospects in mind, a model for Hitech City should be developed that features modern technology and world-class amenities. Reviewing the Medicity project, he emphasised developing it with state-of-the-art, world-class medical facilities. He stressed that both Hitech City and Medicity should be developed in such a manner that their design becomes the hallmark of 'New Jaipur'.
No Unnecessary Delays in Work
The Chief Minister directed that all development projects must be completed within their stipulated timeframes. A clear timeline must be fixed for each project, accompanied by regular monitoring. He warned that unnecessary delays and negligence in work would not be tolerated at any level. Strict action will be taken against the responsible officers and staff in such cases.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Alok Gupta, Principal Government Secretary of Finance Vaibhav Galriya, Commissioner of Jaipur Development Authority Siddhartha Mahajan, alongside other departmental officials.
