Lisbon, Aug 2026 : Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model Georgina Rodriguez, in a private civil ceremony in Portugal, marking a new chapter in the couple’s relationship after nearly a decade together.
The 41-year-old Portuguese footballer and Rodriguez, 32, exchanged vows on August 11 in Cascais, Portugal, in what was described as a “private and intimate moment.” The ceremony was attended by the couple’s five children, making it a closely guarded family occasion.
Ronaldo confirmed the marriage on social media shortly after the ceremony by sharing a photograph of the couple’s hands displaying their wedding rings. He captioned the picture simply, “C ❤️ G,” offering fans a glimpse of the celebrations without revealing details of the ceremony.
The couple have been together since 2017 and announced their engagement in August 2025. Rodriguez had shared a photograph of her hand resting over Ronaldo’s, prominently displaying her large oval-shaped diamond engagement ring.
Alongside the photograph, she wrote, “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” meaning, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have built a family together over the years. Their children include twins Eva Maria and Mateo, daughter Alana and daughter Bella. Ronaldo's eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 16, is also part of the family. The couple had earlier suffered the loss of Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel, in April 2022.
Their relationship began when Ronaldo met Rodriguez while she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in 2017. The pair made their first major public appearance together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January that year.
Several months later, Ronaldo made their relationship official on Instagram, posting a photograph with Rodriguez. Since then, the couple have frequently appeared together at sporting events, red-carpet occasions and family celebrations.
Rodriguez later offered viewers a glimpse into their relationship through her Netflix reality series I Am Georgina. Ronaldo also spoke about their early romance in the programme, recalling that he found Rodriguez particularly interesting and mature for her age, although he initially did not expect their relationship to develop into a lasting partnership.
After years together, the couple's wedding formalises a relationship that has remained one of the most closely followed celebrity romances in the sporting world. The intimate ceremony in Cascais brought their long journey together into a new phase, surrounded by their children and close family.
