CM Rekha Gupta flags off special Delhi Metro train under ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’
Awareness campaign to be carried out extensively through wrapped Metro trains, digital screens and permanent panels at stations

New Delhi, September 2026 : As part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, launched on Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s birthday, the Delhi government has taken a significant initiative to ensure that information about its welfare and public-interest schemes reaches more Delhi residents, quickly and effectively. Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Wednesday flagged off a special Metro train carrying information on various Delhi government schemes and citizen services from ITO Metro Station.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring that information about the services and schemes being offered by the Delhi government reaches more citizens, quickly and in a simple and accessible manner. By leveraging the extensive Delhi Metro network and the millions of passengers who travel on it every day, the government seeks to ensure that eligible citizens are aware of the schemes and facilities available to them and can avail themselves of the benefits.
Information on a range of schemes
Information on major welfare schemes and initiatives of the Delhi government will be shared with Delhi residents through specially prepared Metro trains. These include the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana, last-mile connectivity for commuters, initiatives to ease doing business for micro, small and medium enterprises and collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 crore, tax benefits and subsidies under the Electric Vehicle Policy, the Delhi PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Atal Canteen scheme offering meals at Rs 5, monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 to women in need under the Delhi Laxmi Yojana, expansion of the Delhi Metro, the Swachh Delhi-Green Delhi campaign, the Saheli Pink Smart Card for women, regularisation of 1,511 unauthorised colonies and the Clean Yamuna Mission. Through these special Metro trains, the government aims to make it easier for Delhi residents to learn about the schemes and facilities available to them during their daily commute itself.
Information not just on phones, but during the journey too
The campaign to take information about government schemes to Metro passengers will not be limited to train wrapping. Digital platforms will also be used extensively across the Delhi Metro network. As part of the campaign, messages related to schemes and services will be displayed at regular intervals on digital screens, including video walls. These screens will display the messages for 15 seconds every five minutes. In addition, permanent publicity panels will be installed at Metro stations across Delhi as part of the campaign. Information about government schemes and initiatives will be displayed through these panels at each station.
Another step towards ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the objective of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is to bring information about government schemes and services closer to citizens. The Delhi Metro connects a large number of Delhi residents every day, and this initiative to share information through Metro trains, digital screens and panels installed at stations will help reduce the information gap between the government and the public.
She said several welfare schemes of the government are being implemented keeping the interests and convenience of citizens in mind. It is therefore essential that eligible citizens receive accurate and adequate information about these schemes. The government’s effort is to ensure that information about welfare schemes does not remain limited to government offices or online platforms, but also reaches citizens at places they visit every day. The initiative to create widespread awareness through the Delhi Metro network is an important step in this direction.
