Mumbai, Sept 2026 : South Indian actor Dhanush shared a heartwarming family moment on social media, posting a picture with his mother and sisters and describing the three women as his “blessings”.
On Sunday, the actor, known for films including Tere Ishq Mein and Atrangi Re, took to Instagram to share the candid family photograph. In the picture, Dhanush’s mother and sisters are seen sitting together while the actor sits on the floor near his mother’s feet. All four smile warmly for the camera, creating an affectionate family portrait.
Dhanush captioned the photograph, “My blessings”, accompanied by several red and white heart emojis.
The post quickly highlighted the actor’s close bond with his family, even as he continues to remain busy with multiple projects in the film industry.
Meanwhile, Dhanush’s father, filmmaker and actor Kasthuri Raja, had previously revealed that his son did not enter the world of cinema willingly. According to him, Dhanush initially had little interest in pursuing acting and even pleaded with his father to allow him to leave the profession.
Speaking at the pre-release event of Love Oh Love, which stars his grandson Pavish, Kasthuri Raja recalled Dhanush’s early years in the industry.
He said that among the three directors in the family, Dhanush’s elder brother Selvaraghavan was the only one who willingly chose cinema. Dhanush, he said, did not initially like the film industry and continued to express his reluctance even after completing several films.
Recalling the making of Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kasthuri Raja said Dhanush would repeatedly ask him to let him leave the film world. He also recalled that the young actor would become emotional before shooting scenes.
However, Dhanush eventually established himself as one of the most successful and bankable stars in the South Indian film industry. Over the years, he has expanded his career beyond acting, taking on roles as a filmmaker, producer, singer and writer.
At present, the actor is working on Rajkumar Periasamy’s much-awaited action entertainer Om. The film is being produced under the banner of Wunderbar Films and is expected to feature Malayalam superstar Mammootty in a significant role.
Dhanush also has several ambitious projects lined up. Among them is Kalam: The Missile Man of India, a biographical film based on former President and renowned scientist Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
In addition, the actor is associated with another major biographical project based on legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja.
From being a reluctant entrant into cinema, as recalled by his father, to becoming a prominent and versatile figure in Indian entertainment, Dhanush has built a career spanning acting, filmmaking and music.
