At the Bloomberg New Economy Forum, the business leaders exchange views on climate action, resilient urban infrastructure and India’s expanding role in the global economy.
New Delhi, Oct 13: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, on Tuesday said he had an engaging discussion with Bloomberg co-founder Mike Bloomberg on accelerating the global energy transition, developing resilient urban infrastructure, the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and promoting sustainable growth.
In a post on social media platform X, Adani expressed his delight at meeting Bloomberg during the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi. He said Bloomberg’s vision and continued commitment to climate action remained an inspiration.
“Delighted to meet Mike Bloomberg at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi. A truly engaging discussion on accelerating the global energy transition, resilient urban infrastructure, future of AI and sustainable growth. Mike’s vision and commitment to climate action continue to inspire!!” Adani wrote.
The meeting brought together two prominent business leaders at a time when governments and industries worldwide are exploring ways to balance economic expansion with environmental sustainability and technological transformation.
The discussions covered key issues shaping the global economic landscape, including the transition towards cleaner energy, the need to make cities more resilient to emerging challenges, and the growing influence of AI across industries.
Bloomberg, meanwhile, highlighted India’s increasing importance in the global economy, particularly its contribution to innovation, entrepreneurship and economic opportunity.
In a separate post, he said he had the opportunity to interact with leading figures from India’s business and philanthropic communities to discuss the country’s future prospects and its growing international influence.
“For decades, visionaries in India have been expanding the frontiers of global innovation and economic opportunity. It was great to sit and speak with some of the country’s most ambitious leaders in business and philanthropy to talk about what the future holds as India continues to emerge as a global leader,” Bloomberg said.
He also observed that India was emerging as one of the world’s leading engines of growth at a time of significant global changes.
Bloomberg’s remarks underlined the importance of India’s business and philanthropic communities in shaping discussions around innovation, investment and future economic opportunities. The country’s expanding economic role has increasingly placed it at the centre of international conversations on development and technological progress.
The Bloomberg New Economy Forum brought together business executives, government representatives and other influential leaders from across the world to strengthen connections, address pressing global challenges and explore emerging opportunities.
The forum provides a platform for discussions on major economic and geopolitical shifts, including technological advancement, sustainable development and changes in global trade and investment patterns.
Adani and Bloomberg’s interaction highlighted the convergence of several important themes on the forum’s agenda, particularly energy transition, climate action, urban development and artificial intelligence.
