Bhopal, Oct 2026 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said Lord Shri Ram, revered as Maryada Purushottam, highlighted the importance of relationships and inspired people to follow the path of righteousness through his conduct.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working towards the restoration of Sanatan culture and that around 200 countries across the world viewed India with respect. Lord Shri Ram is now enshrined in Ayodhya, and in the coming time, Lord Shri Krishna would bring joy to Mathura and Vrindavan, he added.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Ravana Dahan programme organised on the occasion of Vijayadashami at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Nagar on Kolar Road in Bhopal. The event was organised jointly by the Kolar Hindu Utsav Samiti, Vikramaditya Mahavidyalaya and the Dainik Bhaskar newspaper.
Dr Yadav congratulated the young women who presented cultural performances, along with the other participating artists. He also extended Vijayadashami greetings and best wishes to the citizens present at the event.
Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said he had been attending the programme every year for several years and described it as a dignified celebration.
BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma highlighted the development of infrastructure in the Kolar area. He said modern stadium facilities, four-lane and six-lane roads, adequate drinking water and reliable electricity supply had been provided in the region.
Sharma also said the state government had initiated plans to establish an information technology park at nearby Satgarhi. The proposed project is expected to generate employment opportunities for more than 25,000 young people over the next five years.
During the programme, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav performed aarti of the representations of Lord Shri Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman and Lord Hanuman.
He also honoured Head Constable Jagdish Dangi of the Traffic Police in recognition of his courageous actions.
The event brought together cultural performances, religious observances and public participation as Bhopal celebrated Vijayadashami, which symbolises the victory of good over evil.
