In a separate post, Modi shared a Sanskrit verse describing Lord Rama as the embodiment of righteousness, truth and courage. The verse highlighted Rama’s unwavering commitment to his principles and his role as the protector of the universe.
The message reflected the spiritual significance of Vijayadashami, which commemorates the victory of righteousness over wrongdoing and celebrates the enduring relevance of Lord Rama’s ideals.

In his message on X, Singh said the festival symbolised the triumph of righteousness over unrighteousness, truth over falsehood and good over evil. He also underlined its importance in strengthening faith and preserving the country’s cultural traditions.
“Heartfelt greetings to all on the sacred festival of Vijayadashami,” Singh wrote, expressing his prayer that the occasion would bring happiness, peace and prosperity to everyone.
The Defence Minister further hoped that the festival would encourage greater harmony and goodwill across society, reinforcing the values of mutual respect and collective well-being.

In a post on X, Gadkari described the occasion as an auspicious festival carrying a timeless message of moral victory. He wished that the celebrations would bring peace, prosperity and happiness into people’s lives.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also greeted residents of the state and devotees on Vijayadashami. He urged people to draw inspiration from the ideals and values represented by Lord Shri Ram, emphasising the importance of righteousness, discipline and commitment to truth.
Vijayadashami, popularly known as Dussehra, is one of the major festivals in the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the tenth day following the nine-day Navratri festival and holds significance across different regions of India.
The occasion is traditionally associated with Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, in the Ramayana. The episode represents the triumph of righteousness over arrogance and wrongdoing. In several parts of the country, the celebrations feature the burning of Ravana’s effigies, accompanied by religious ceremonies, cultural programmes and community gatherings.
In other traditions, particularly during Durga Puja celebrations, Vijayadashami marks Goddess Durga’s victory over Mahishasura, symbolising the defeat of destructive forces by divine power.
Despite regional differences in customs, the festival conveys a common message of courage, truth and moral responsibility. The greetings from the Prime Minister and other senior leaders highlighted these enduring values, while wishing citizens peace, prosperity and renewed determination on the auspicious occasion.
