Hyderabad, October 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday reiterated his government’s commitment to transforming the state into one of the world’s leading destinations for global investments, setting an ambitious target of increasing Telangana’s contribution to India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from the present five per cent to 10 per cent.
Addressing a global summit organised by the SAMAKHYA Chamber of Commerce in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister outlined the state government’s long-term economic ambitions under the ‘Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision Document’. He said the government aims to transform Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
“Our resolve is to transform Telangana into the best destination for global investments. Our aim is to increase Telangana’s contribution to India’s GDP to 10 per cent from the present five per cent,” Revanth Reddy said.
To achieve these objectives, the government has formulated a regional development strategy based on three economic zones — Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE) and Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE). The initiative is intended to ensure balanced growth by leveraging the strengths of urban centres, industrial corridors and rural areas.
Explaining the strategy, the Chief Minister said CURE, covering the area within Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR), would be developed as a major hub for information technology, services, advanced technology and innovation.
The PURE region, situated between the ORR and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR), will focus on manufacturing industries, industrial parks and logistics infrastructure. The RARE zone will prioritise agriculture, food processing, agro-based industries and rural employment generation.
The government expects this integrated approach to attract investments across sectors, generate employment and strengthen Telangana’s economic contribution to the country.
Referring to India’s centenary of Independence in 2047, Revanth Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ could be realised only through the active participation of state governments. He emphasised that cooperation between the Centre and states was essential to achieving the country’s development goals.
“Our main focus is on development, and politics should be confined to elections,” the Chief Minister remarked, stressing the need to prioritise economic progress and long-term development.
Highlighting Hyderabad’s evolution as an international business destination, Revanth Reddy drew a parallel between the city’s historic landmarks and its emergence as a technology and investment hub. He noted that Charminar, built around 400 years ago, had become a landmark associated with entrepreneurs from India and abroad.
“After the Charminar, HITEC City emerged as the destination for the world of investments,” he said, referring to Hyderabad’s growing prominence in information technology and services.
The Chief Minister invited domestic and international investors to partner with the state government in realising the Telangana Rising vision. He assured businesses that the government would extend the necessary support and protection to investments through investor-friendly policies and a conducive business environment.
He also called on local entrepreneurs to become active participants in the state’s industrial expansion. Observing that regional businesses had traditionally concentrated on providing services to large corporate companies, he urged entrepreneurs to invest in their own ventures and build globally competitive enterprises.
Revanth Reddy underscored the importance of chambers of commerce in helping businesses understand evolving market practices, adopt modern methods and identify emerging opportunities.
Highlighting the government’s women empowerment initiatives, he said financial support and entrepreneurship opportunities were being expanded to strengthen economic participation. The government, he added, had facilitated bank-linked loans worth ₹61,000 crore for women and enabled them to become owners of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses, petrol bunks and solar power plants.
He urged the Chamber of Commerce to encourage young people and women to pursue entrepreneurship, stating that their participation would help strengthen the economy.
The Chief Minister said the state’s investment ambitions would depend on collaboration among the government, industry bodies, established businesses and emerging entrepreneurs. Telangana, he added, was working towards building a diversified economy capable of attracting global capital while creating opportunities across urban, industrial and rural regions.
