Champhai, October, 2026 : Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister of Tourism, today attended the closing event of Hnahsin Kut 2026 at Mualnuam, Champhai. Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, MLA of Aizawl West-I and Adviser to the Chief Minister (Finance), was also present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Hnahsin Kut. He highlighted the significant economic and other benefits the festival has brought to Champhai and its surrounding areas. He also expressed his gratitude to the Champhai Nature Conservancy (CNC), the community-based organisation that conceptualised and initiated the festival, for its dedication and initiative.
The Minister observed that people in Mizoram are increasingly appreciating the State’s scenic destinations and Mizo artists. As more Mizos travel to different places within the State, money circulates within the local economy, supporting local businesses and artists. Sharing photographs and experiences from these trips also helps promote Mizoram’s beautiful destinations to people outside the State, contributing to the growth of tourism. He stated that in 2026, Mizoram is expected to welcome tourists in numbers approaching its own population and noted that Hnahsin Kut and Champhai have made significant contributions towards this achievement.
The Minister further stated that Hnahsin Kut had achieved a social media reach of 22.5 million, reflecting the festival’s growing popularity and visibility. He emphasised that Mizoram is as beautiful as any place in the world and that Champhai and the State as a whole have immense potential to host events at both national and international levels. He invited visitors from outside the State to return to Mizoram with their friends and families and encouraged them to share the State’s natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere and warm hospitality with others.
The closing evening of Hnahsin Kut featured a concert led by several popular Mizo artistes, drawing a large gathering of people.
