Hyderabad, Aug 2026 : The makers of director Anil Ravipudi’s much-awaited entertainer starring Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram have unveiled the first look of Venkatesh as Lt. Colonel Venkat Reddy, marking the actor’s completion of 40 years in the Telugu film industry.
Following the recent unveiling of Kalyan Ram’s character look on his birthday, the production team released Venkatesh’s first-look poster on Friday to celebrate the veteran actor’s four-decade journey in cinema.
The poster presents Venkatesh in a striking Indian Army camouflage uniform, complete with sunglasses and a scarf. Standing beside a rugged SUV against a rocky landscape, the actor sports an intense and composed expression that highlights the character’s disciplined military persona.
According to the character introduction, Venkatesh plays Lt. Colonel Venkat Reddy, an Indian Army officer specialising in counter-terrorism operations and hostage negotiations. Military insignia and the crossed-swords emblem featured in the backdrop further establish the film’s defence-oriented setting.
The poster’s earthy camouflage tones, rugged terrain, imposing vehicle and muted blue-green surroundings create a gritty yet patriotic visual atmosphere. The first look has generated considerable interest among fans, particularly because it presents Venkatesh in a military role with a serious and action-oriented appearance.
The film brings together Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram in prominent roles, with their contrasting personalities expected to form one of the major attractions. Their combination is also likely to complement Anil Ravipudi’s signature style of blending comedy, emotion, family drama and commercial entertainment.
Produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner, the film is presented by Suresh Productions, Archana and Zee Studios. The project is being mounted on a large scale and is currently progressing at a brisk pace.
Keerthy Suresh has been cast opposite Venkatesh, while Krithi Shetty will be paired with Kalyan Ram. The casting and technical lineup has added to expectations surrounding the project.
The film’s technical crew includes GV Prakash Kumar, who is composing the music, while Sameer Reddy is handling cinematography. Tammiraju is responsible for editing and AS Prakash is overseeing production design. S Krishna serves as the executive producer.
The makers are positioning the project as a complete festive entertainer, combining humour, action, emotions, family drama and celebratory elements. The large-scale production is expected to showcase Anil Ravipudi’s distinctive commercial storytelling while giving Venkatesh a character with a strong military backdrop.
The project is currently being referred to by the working titles #VenkyAnil5 and #NKRAR2. With the film featuring two established actors and a popular director, expectations are high among Telugu cinema audiences.
The makers have planned the film as a Sankranthi 2027 release, setting the stage for its arrival during one of the most important festive movie seasons in the Telugu states.
