Gandhinagar : The Ministry of Jal Shakti, in partnership with the Government of Gujarat, is set to inaugurate the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari initiative from Surat on September 6. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will virtually attend the event and offer his guidance, while the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C.R. Patil, and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, will participate in the event from Surat.

It is noteworthy that since 2021, the Ministry of Jal Shakti has been conducting the Jal Shakti Abhiyan across India under the theme ‘Catch the Rain, Where It Falls – When It Falls,’ with a focus on water conservation. In 2024, the Jal Shakti Abhiyan will be conducted under the theme ‘Jal Shakti through Nari Shakti,’ from March 9 to November 30, 2024. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, convened a video conference with district collectors across the state to guide ensuring the widespread success of this campaign.

During the video conference, the Chief Minister also reviewed the monsoon situation in the state. He emphasised that, as the monsoon has now subsided and the state is transitioning out of the rainy season, immediate priority should be given to cleaning up the affected districts, safeguarding public health, and urgently repairing roads. Additionally, The CM advised conducting surveys and prioritising the swift disbursement of cash grants and household goods assistance to those affected.

The conference was also attended by Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi and Shri M.K. Das, along with other senior secretaries.
