Tiranga will be hoisted at every house from August 13 to 15

Lucknow : The centenary year of the historic Kakori Train Action, a significant event in the Indian freedom struggle, will be celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the state. On August 9, marking the start of the centenary year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the program to be held in Kakori. In honour of the immortal martyrs, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign will take place, with the national flag being hoisted at every home until Independence Day.

In an important meeting on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations for the centenary year celebrations and provided necessary guidelines. He emphasized that the Kakori Train Action is an immortal chapter in the country’s freedom struggle, stating, “This event is a reminder of our responsibilities towards the nation. As we approach the 100th anniversary of this incident in 2025, it is an opportune moment to express our gratitude towards our immortal heroes.”

He said that the memories of the Kakori Train Action should be honoured through various programs throughout the year. After the main event in Kakori on August 9, various programs should be organized at every Shaheed Smarak across the state. Schools should conduct Prabhat Pheri (morning processions) on August 9. Additionally, debates on the topic of freedom fighters should be organized in schools and colleges, along with general knowledge competitions focused on the freedom struggle. Prizes should be awarded to the children who excel in these competitions.

The Chief Minister suggested organizing a painting competition focusing on local or regional freedom fighters. “On the occasion of Kakori Train Action on August 9th , the tune of the national anthem should be played through the police band at every Shaheed Smarak. Prior to this, a cleanliness drive should be conducted around these memorials. Additionally, fruits should be distributed in various hospitals, youth should be encouraged to donate blood, and a tree should be planted in honour of mothers.”

The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Kakori Train Action on August 9, a program should be started to hoist the ‘Tiranga’ in every house. Between August 13 and August 15, the ‘Tiranga’ should be hoisted at every home as part of a mass movement. A dedicated portal should be set up where people can take selfies and upload them after hoisting the flag at their residences.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that the Kakori Train Action Centenary Celebration will feature various programs on themes such as the glorious story of the freedom struggle, tributes to the martyrs, environmental protection as a lifestyle, cultural heritage and glorious history, and dedication and service to the nation.
