Ujjwal Nikam replaces Poonam Mahajan as Mumbai North Central BJP candidate

Lok Sabha 2024 : Former special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam as its Lok Sabha candidate from the Mumbai North Central seat for BJP, dropping sitting MP Poonam Mahajan.

The BJP made a significant move by nominating former special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam as its candidate for the Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha seat, replacing incumbent MP Poonam Mahajan. Nikam will be facing off against Varsha Gaikwad from the Congress party in the upcoming elections. The decision to replace Mahajan stemmed from feedback gathered by the party, which highlighted a negative perception of her among voters, as indicated by various polls. While some party leaders mentioned that this decision had been in the pipeline for a while, the process of finding her replacement took some time.
