A Story of Empowerment: Skill Training Makes Asha Self-Reliant, Earns Her ₹17,000 Monthly as a Technician

Raipur, October 2026: The Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme is playing an important role in equipping young people with skills and connecting them with employment opportunities. Asha Verma from Khairagarh in Chhattisgarh has taken a significant step towards self-reliance after completing training under the scheme and securing a job as a technician at Tata Gotian company in Gujarat, where she earns a monthly salary of ₹17,000.

Coming from an ordinary farming family, Asha faced challenges in completing her education and finding employment because of limited financial resources. Her father consistently encouraged her to pursue education and become self-reliant. After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree, Asha wanted to stand on her own feet and contribute to her family’s financial well-being.

With this goal in mind, she enrolled in the Digital Mitra course offered under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme at the Polytechnic College in Khairagarh. The programme was conducted through the Jai Ranchhod Baba Shikshan Samiti, Dalli Rajhara.

During the training, Asha acquired practical knowledge of technical tasks, including computer operations, computer hardware and system configuration. The course helped her develop the skills required to pursue employment in the technical field.

Skill Training Opens the Door to Employment

The training and guidance she received helped Asha secure an employment opportunity. Her selection as a technician at the Gujarat-based Tata Gotian company has provided her with a regular income and enabled her to become financially independent.

She is now contributing to her family’s financial needs while building a more secure future for herself.

Asha expressed gratitude to the Chhattisgarh government and the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme for providing her with the opportunity to acquire technical skills and obtain employment.

Her journey highlights how appropriate skill training, determination and access to employment opportunities can help young people improve their prospects and achieve financial independence.

Asha also expressed her appreciation for the public welfare initiatives implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

Her achievement illustrates how skill development programmes can help young people from modest economic backgrounds turn their aspirations into opportunities for employment and self-reliance.
