Ahmedabad, Sept 2026 : The Adani Group has renewed its partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as Principal Sponsor, extending its support for Indian athletes competing at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The renewed association covers the ongoing Asian Games, scheduled from September 19 to October 4, and will continue beyond the continental sporting event. The partnership was also in place during the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026, where India finished fourth in the medal standings with 39 medals, including 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze.
The continuation of the partnership comes at an important stage for Indian sport, with Ahmedabad set to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030 and India continuing its efforts to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036.
IOA President and Olympian PT Usha welcomed the renewal, highlighting the importance of institutional support as Indian athletes prepare for major international competitions.
“India’s performance at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow reflects the talent and growing strength of our athletes. We are grateful to the Adani Group for continuing its association with the Indian Olympic Association,” Usha said.
She added that such support would be important as athletes prepare for the Asian Games and the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad. Usha said the IOA looked forward to continuing the association as Indian sport progresses.
The Adani Group said its sports initiatives cover several areas, including grassroots development, athlete support, community participation and professional sports.
Through its ‘Garv Hai’ initiative, the group has supported Indian athletes, while its grassroots academies focus on identifying and developing sporting talent across multiple disciplines.
The group has also promoted fitness and mass participation through the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, with its 10th edition scheduled to be held on November 29. In addition, the group has a presence in professional sports through ownership of franchises in sporting leagues.
The renewed IOA partnership extends the Adani Group’s existing engagement with Indian sport at a time when the country’s athletes are preparing for a series of major international competitions.
The Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya represent the latest major continental competition on the sporting calendar, with Indian athletes competing across multiple disciplines. The event is also part of a broader period of preparation for future multi-sport competitions, including the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad.
The partnership between the IOA and Adani Group is expected to continue supporting India’s sporting ecosystem, from elite athletes competing internationally to grassroots programmes aimed at developing future talent.
