Jaipur, Aug 2026 : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal is to make every village in the country prosperous through cooperation. Giving concrete shape to the vision of prosperity through cooperation, efforts are underway to make every village prosperous. He said that if India is to become a fully developed nation, its youth, poor, farmers and women must be empowered. The concept of ‘GYAN’ — representing the welfare of the poor, youth, farmers and women — is being realised through efforts aimed at their upliftment.

Addressing a foundation stone-laying and inauguration ceremony for various development projects at Vijaynagar Ground in Alwar on Sunday, the Union Home Minister said farmers had received benefits under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, while dairy facilities had been provided for women and livestock owners and employment opportunities for youth. The foundation stone for a dairy plant with a capacity of 3 lakh litres per day was also laid. Its capacity will eventually be increased to 5 lakh litres per day, which will help ensure greater economic prosperity for livestock-owning families. He said cooperatives and dairy have the potential to transform the rural economy and the lives of economically weaker livestock owners while opening new opportunities for the next generation. Citing Gujarat as an example, he said 33 lakh women there invested Rs 100 each, and today 33 dairy plants are operating with a turnover of Rs 1.25 lakh crore.

He said four additional Saras Dairy plants, costing Rs 274 crore, are being established in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand. Four new Central Cooperative Banks are also being launched in Phalodi, Balotra, Didwana and Pratapgarh. These banks will enable farmers to access loans at zero interest rates.

Benefits for Farmers, Livestock Owners and Youth

During the event, the Union Cooperation Minister transferred nearly Rs 667 crore to the bank accounts of more than 66.74 lakh farmers as the sixth instalment under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, along with Rs 152 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Along with the formation of new Central Cooperative Banks, he laid the foundation stones for and inaugurated various development projects worth Rs 6,453 crore across 17 districts of the state.

He laid the foundation stone for a new Saras Dairy plant in Alwar, being constructed at a cost of Rs 200 crore. He also inaugurated dairy processing plants and cattle feed plants operated by various milk unions. Appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited personnel as well. Under the 10th Chief Minister's Employment Festival held across Rajasthan on Sunday, appointment letters were handed over to more than 10,500 newly selected candidates.

Goal of a Cooperative Society in Every Village

Amit Shah said Rajasthan currently has around 44,000 cooperative societies and the target is to establish a cooperative society in every village. Around 200 warehouses, each with a capacity of 500 metric tonnes, are being constructed across the state, while 50 additional warehouses have also been approved.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been introducing new schemes every year for the welfare of farmers and livestock owners. Initiatives such as the Gokul Mission, irrigation schemes, Soil Health Cards, the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, e-NAM, PM Kisan Sampada Yojana, higher Minimum Support Prices (MSP), PM-KISAN, the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Matsya Sampada Yojana, the creation of the Ministry of Cooperation, Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, the National Mission on Edible Oils and PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana have contributed to farmers' economic progress.

He said the Central government had procured the highest-ever quantity of foodgrains at MSP and had significantly increased MSPs for crops including millet, mustard, wheat, cotton and sorghum. He added that efforts would also be made to further reduce the time taken to make payments to livestock owners by dairy cooperatives.

Strengthening Basic Infrastructure Across Rajasthan

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said his government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, was fully committed to taking development to every corner of Rajasthan with the speed and strength of the “double-engine” government. He said 954 development projects worth Rs 6,453 crore had been dedicated to 17 districts. The projects are aimed at strengthening basic infrastructure across Rajasthan and accelerating the pace of development, he said, adding that the initiative would further strengthen the state's contribution to the vision of a developed India.

Sharma said the guidance of the Union Home Minister had helped pave the way for resolving the decades-old Yamuna water agreement, for which Rajasthan would always remain grateful. He said the cooperative movement had received new energy, strength, direction and confidence under the leadership of the Union Cooperation Minister. White Revolution 2.0, particularly aimed at strengthening cooperative dairy networks, increasing milk procurement and economically empowering rural communities and women, is an important initiative, he said.

He described the foundation stone for the new Saras Dairy plant in Alwar as an important step in taking this vision forward. The modern facility will increase milk-processing capacity and provide dairy producers with better market opportunities.

Bhugor Tiraha Renamed Captain Chhuttanlal Meena Chowk

The Chief Minister said dairy processing plants and cattle feed plants operated by various milk unions had also been inaugurated. More than Rs 667 crore under the sixth instalment of the Chief Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and Rs 152 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana were transferred through DBT to farmers' accounts. Appointment letters were also handed over to 10,548 newly appointed personnel, and the Chief Minister congratulated the recruits and their families.

On the occasion, Sharma announced that Bhugor Tiraha in Alwar would be renamed Captain Chhuttanlal Meena Chowk.

Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav said the projects announced by the Union Cooperation Minister were taking Alwar towards a new chapter of development. He said the projects being inaugurated and launched were not merely structures made of bricks and mortar but the foundation of a stronger and brighter future for Alwar.

Yadav said the Union Cooperation Minister had taken the cooperative movement from government files to village-level institutions. As a result, cooperation is no longer limited to agricultural credit but has expanded into dairy, fisheries, organic products, storage, rural entrepreneurship and new opportunities such as Bharat Taxi and petrol pumps for young people.
