‘Inclusive Development Is Bringing Unprecedented Upliftment of Deprived Sections’; Retired Officials Urged to Continue Their Social Responsibility
— Chief Minister Praised for Swift Action in Cases Against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
Jaipur, Aug 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stressed the importance of continuous dialogue between the government and society, describing it as an effective means of ensuring the successful implementation of government policies. He said the state government considers social justice the soul of its policies and the essence of its welfare schemes and is working in the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, resulting in unprecedented upliftment of deprived sections of society.
The Chief Minister was interacting with retired officers belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities on Tuesday. He said these officers had discharged various responsibilities during their service, taking government policies and schemes to the grassroots and serving the public. While officials retire from government service, they never retire from their social responsibilities. He said it was their responsibility to use their years of administrative experience, practical understanding of ground realities and knowledge to guide the younger generation.
Retired Officials Thank CM for Better Implementation of Social Security Schemes
The retired officers thanked the Chief Minister for the better implementation of various social security schemes, including enhanced scholarship amounts, free coaching schemes and skill development initiatives. They also appreciated the government for effective investigation and swift action in cases of atrocities against members of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.
They said retired officers are a source of inspiration for society and that people look to their experience and work as examples. Their cooperation and guidance, therefore, are extremely important in realising the vision of a developed Rajasthan.
Committed to Taking Benefits of Schemes to the Last Person
Chief Minister Sharma said the state government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society by following the ideals of Dr B.R. Ambedkar. The government is preparing a development roadmap based on local needs and potential, with special emphasis on basic infrastructure such as water, electricity, roads and healthcare. Major initiatives such as the Ramjal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement are the result of the resolve of the double-engine government. He said his government had achieved 12,000 MW of power generation in just two-and-a-half years.
He said local products were being promoted and employment opportunities created for young people through initiatives such as One District, One Product and Panch Gaurav. The government is moving forward with the resolve of ‘cooperation leading to prosperity’. Expansion of storage and processing facilities at the local level is helping increase farmers’ incomes while also creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Village Development Being Strengthened Through Baba Saheb Ambedkar Adarsh Gram Vikas Yojana
The Chief Minister said the state government is continuously working for the welfare of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Adarsh Gram Vikas Yojana, development works relating to roads, drinking water, waste management and other facilities are being undertaken for deprived sections in villages with populations of more than 10,000.
He said around 4.25 lakh students have benefited under the Scheduled Caste Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, while 4.30 lakh students have benefited under the Scheduled Tribe Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme.
He further said that under the Ambedkar Pilgrimage Scheme, beneficiaries are being facilitated to visit places associated with the memory of Baba Saheb. Under the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Rajasthan Dalit, Tribal Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme, loans worth Rs 887 crore have been disbursed. In Baran district, the dream of homes for 14,636 eligible families has been fulfilled under PM-JANMAN.
The Chief Minister said the state government has increased the monthly mess allowance for students in hostels and residential schools from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,250, while the mess allowance in sports academies has been increased from Rs 2,600 to Rs 4,000 per month.
He said the honorarium of personnel working at Maa-Baadi Centres has been increased by 10 per cent each year over the past two years. Orders have also been issued for opening 250 new Maa-Baadi Centres.
Retired officers from the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Revenue Service, administrative services and other services, including Lalit K. Panwar, J.P. Chandelia, Ravi Prakash Meherda, Om Prakash Bairwa and Anil Gothwal, were present on the occasion.
