Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all citizens on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. He said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is committed to ensuring that the light of development reaches every corner of the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that, further advancing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's call for 'Vocal for Local', the state is promoting a Swadeshi Diwali. He appealed to citizens to purchase earthen lamps, decorative items and other indigenous products from local artisans, Self-Help Groups and small traders. The Chief Minister said that instructions have been issued to local bodies to exempt small vendors selling fruits, flowers, leaves, torans, earthen lamps, wicks, decorative lights and other festive items from the market fee (Tahbazari). The objective is to ensure that the joy of the festival reaches every household, including those of the poor and small traders.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all government officials have been instructed to ensure that the happiness of the festival reaches the last person in society and those in needs. Accordingly, officials should visit underprivileged settlements, spend time with children, and celebrate Diwali with residents of orphanages and old-age homes.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further said that instructions have also been issued to prohibit the use of illegal and banned firecrackers, as well as carbide guns and carbide lamps that are harmful to human health. He said that the government's resolve is to preserve the state's rich heritage while prioritising development, social sensitivity and public welfare, and building a self-reliant, prosperous and developed Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended his greetings on Diwali, Chhoti Diwali, Govardhan Pooja and Bhai Dooj. He wished that the light of happiness, prosperity, progress and well-being continue to illuminate the lives of every citizen of the state.
