  • Awareness programme at RSPCB encourages employees to minimise waste, use resources judiciously and adopt the 3R principles.

  • Emphasis on avoiding single-use plastic, reducing paper consumption and minimising waste at source.

  • Officials and employees take a collective pledge to promote a clean and green environment.

Jaipur, November 2026: The seven-day ‘BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026’, organised to promote environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources and eco-friendly lifestyles, concluded on Saturday.

On the final day, under the theme ‘Reduce Waste’, a special awareness activity was organised at the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB). Officials and employees were encouraged to reduce waste generation in their daily lives and workplaces and adopt environmentally responsible practices.

The programme aimed to create awareness among employees about minimising waste, using resources responsibly and adopting sustainable work practices. Participants were encouraged to avoid unnecessary paper consumption, refrain from using single-use plastic and prevent the generation of avoidable waste.

Special emphasis was also placed on incorporating the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R) into everyday life.

Minimising waste at source is essential

Addressing the employees, Additional Chief Environmental Engineer Amit Sharma and Superintendent Scientific Officer Abhishek Sharma highlighted the importance of waste management, responsible consumption and environmentally friendly workplace practices.

They said that simply disposing of waste was not enough to protect the environment. It was equally important to reduce waste generation at the source. Every individual should make changes to daily habits and ensure the judicious use of resources.

They emphasised that small steps, such as using paper and other resources only when necessary, prioritising reusable products and avoiding single-use plastic, could make a significant contribution towards environmental protection.

Officials and employees take environmental protection pledge

During the programme, officials and employees collectively took a pledge to conserve natural resources, reduce waste generation and actively contribute towards creating a clean and green environment.

It may be noted that BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026 was observed from November 1 to 7, with awareness activities organised around different environmental themes each day.

The activities encouraged participation from the public and various institutions on important issues such as healthy lifestyles, energy conservation, water conservation, sustainable food systems, eco-friendly practices, reduction of electronic waste and waste minimisation.

Through such initiatives, the RSPCB is making continuous efforts to link environmental protection with public participation and encourage people to make sustainable living an integral part of their everyday behaviour.
