Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel visited the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) and conducted a detailed review of the progress of key industrial, social and urban infrastructure projects taking shape there.
Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has undertaken site visits to review the progress of major flagship development projects being implemented in the state.
As part of this initiative, he reviewed the ongoing construction work at Dholera SIR and the National Maritime Heritage Complex under development at Lothal. He also visited the sites where essential infrastructure facilities are being developed for people, including employees of industries coming up in Dholera.
During the site visit, the Chief Minister inspected various social infrastructure facilities being developed in the Activation Area of Dholera SIR, including a 200-bed multi-speciality hospital, an integrated school, a fire station, a state-of-the-art guest house with 42 rooms, a food court with a capacity of 600 people, a tent city with 50 tents, a hotel, and residential and commercial projects.
In addition, the Chief Minister reviewed the plantation of over 1.11 lakh saplings across 53 hectares of green space, undertaken in collaboration with the Forest Department and Sadbhavana Trust. He also assessed the ‘drum plantation’ technique adopted to ensure a high survival rate of trees. He appreciated these efforts, which aim to achieve industrial development in harmony with environmental balance.
The Chief Minister also visited the Tata Electronics Semiconductor Fabrication Facility, a key component of Dholera’s semiconductor ecosystem, and reviewed the progress of construction work at the site.
This facility will strengthen the broader ecosystem encompassing semiconductor manufacturing, ancillary industries, technology companies and skilled employment opportunities.
In view of the development of a comprehensive and sustainable ecosystem at Dholera, which is emerging as a Semicon City, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel also reviewed the region’s connectivity infrastructure.
During the Chief Minister’s visit, Dr. Kuldeep Arya, Managing Director of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL), delivered a detailed presentation on the development of Dholera SIR. The presentation covered the progress of industrial and urban infrastructure, social amenities, connectivity and the future development roadmap of Dholera SIR.
Significant progress has been made in Dholera’s connectivity infrastructure. The Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway has become operational, while a calibration flight recently landed successfully at Dholera International Airport. The airport is expected to become operational by the end of 2026 and will further strengthen Dholera’s national and international connectivity. To enhance rail connectivity, a 23-km-long ‘Bhimnath-Dholera Logistics Hub New Line’ is being developed.
In addition, the 134-km-long ‘Ahmedabad-Dholera Semi High-Speed Double Line’ project has been approved at an estimated cost of ₹20,667 crore. It will provide high-speed transport connectivity between Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR, the airport and Lothal. With the integrated development of industrial, social and connectivity infrastructure, Dholera is emerging as a globally competitive hub for advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies.
