Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was paid a courtesy visit by Madhya Pradesh State Waqf Board Chairman Dr. Sanwar Patel at the Chief Minister’s Residence. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was requested to extend assistance for the safe and early return of pilgrims from the state who had travelled to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, and a letter was submitted in this regard.
In the letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Dr. Patel stated that the prevailing situation in West Asia and disruptions to air services had forced many pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh visiting Saudi Arabia for Umrah to stay beyond their scheduled period. This was placing an additional financial burden on them for accommodation, food, medicines and other essential needs. Their families were also concerned about their safe return.
Considering the seriousness of the situation and its humanitarian implications, Dr. Patel requested Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to coordinate with the Government of India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Minority Affairs and initiate necessary measures to ensure the safe and early return of the affected Umrah pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh.
