IMC Gaya to be inaugurated in second week of October; projects worth over Rs 100 crore reviewed
Patna, September 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday directed officials to accelerate the implementation of development projects under the ‘Bihar Gati’ initiative and ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
The Chief Minister reviewed projects worth more than Rs 100 crore being implemented under Bihar Gati, along with other Centrally sponsored and state government schemes, at a meeting held at the ‘Sankalp’ auditorium at Lok Sevak Awas.
During the meeting, detailed reviews were conducted of important projects being implemented by the Road Construction Department, Water Resources Department, Industries Department and Social Welfare Department. The respective departmental secretaries — Pankaj Kumar Pal, Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, Kundan Kumar and Vinod Singh Gunjiyal — briefed the Chief Minister on the latest status of projects under their departments.
Choudhary directed officials to accelerate development projects and ensure their completion within the निर्धारित timelines. He stressed the need for regular monitoring, better coordination among departments and special attention to the quality of works.
Four-Laning of Key Road Projects
During the review of the Sultanpur-Jatarpur-Sangrampur-Belhar-Katoria-Chandan-Dardmara road project, the Chief Minister directed officials to prepare a detailed plan for converting the stretch from kilometre 0.0 to 40.0 into a four-lane road.
He also directed that four-laning of the road from Belhar to Dardmara be ensured. Keeping future traffic requirements and the needs of the road project in mind, officials were instructed to prepare a comprehensive plan and expedite the necessary action.
Drinking Water Projects in Aurangabad, Sasaram and Dehri
The Chief Minister also reviewed drinking water supply projects in Aurangabad, Sasaram and Dehri. Under these projects, surface water from the Sone river will be utilised for drinking water supply.
Choudhary directed officials to continuously monitor the quality and progress of the projects and ensure their completion within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasised that there should be no laxity in implementing projects aimed at providing quality drinking water to citizens.
Barrage Construction on Kamla River
Reviewing the construction of a barrage on the Kamla river in Jaynagar, Madhubani district, the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to accelerate the work and complete the required procedures within the prescribed timeframe.
He also directed officials to expedite projects related to water resources and irrigation so that farmers could receive their benefits in a timely manner.
IMC Gaya to be Inaugurated in October
During the review of industrial development projects, Choudhary directed officials to ensure the inauguration of the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) in Gaya under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) in the second week of October.
The establishment of the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster in Gaya is expected to attract investment of around Rs 20,000 crore to Bihar.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure timely development of the basic infrastructure and other facilities required for industrial projects.
Solarisation of Canals and River Barrages
The meeting also discussed the proposed solarisation of all canals and river barrages in south Bihar.
Choudhary directed the concerned officials to study the possibilities and prepare an action plan for the initiative. He stressed the need to promote the use of solar energy and ensure better utilisation of available resources.
Pending Honorarium of Anganwadi Workers to be Cleared Before Dussehra
The Chief Minister also reviewed major schemes being implemented by the Social Welfare Department and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), including Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti-Samarthya and nutrition schemes for adolescent girls.
During the review, Choudhary directed officials to ensure that the pending honorarium of Anganwadi workers and other associated personnel is paid before Dussehra under all circumstances.
He said the benefits of schemes related to women and child development must reach eligible beneficiaries on time. He also called for regular monitoring of the implementation of Anganwadi services and nutrition-related programmes.
Departments Told to Ensure Regular Monitoring
The Chief Minister said projects worth more than Rs 100 crore being implemented under Bihar Gati are important for the state’s development and strengthening of its infrastructure.
Timely completion of these projects will further strengthen facilities in areas including roads, drinking water, irrigation, industrial development, energy and social welfare, he said.
Choudhary directed all departments to regularly review and monitor their major projects. Wherever a delay or obstacle is identified, immediate action should be taken to resolve it, he said.
He instructed officials to maintain momentum in project implementation, ensure quality in all works and adhere strictly to prescribed timelines. All concerned departments should work in coordination and ensure that the benefits of development projects reach the people at the earliest.
