‘Invest Maharashtra’ Gives New Identity to Investment and New Direction to Development – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Oct 2026: With the objective of making Maharashtra not only a leading investment destination in the country but also a major investment hub globally, the ‘Invest Maharashtra’ platform will continue to work, and the government will work in an integrated manner to fulfil every requirement of investors. After an investor selects a project, it will be the responsibility of the government to coordinate among various departments and expedite the project with regard to land, electricity, infrastructure, permissions and skilled manpower, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.

Chief Minister Fadnavis was speaking at the launch of ‘Invest Maharashtra’. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Industries Minister Dr Uday Samant, Minister for Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Marketing and Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal, Minister for Cultural Affairs, Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Textiles Minister Sanjay Savkare, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department P. Anbalagan, along with senior officials, industry representatives, investors, entrepreneurs and diplomatic representatives were present.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the new logo of ‘Invest Maharashtra’ represents the coming together of ‘Investment’ and ‘Maharashtra’ through the letters ‘I’ and ‘M’. ‘Made for Business’ is the identity of this initiative, and when an investor contacts officials, expects a decision or starts a project, the government must understand the importance of their time. Accepting responsibility for a problem, resolving it and remaining with investors until the expansion of the industry is the true meaning of ‘Made for Business’, he explained.

Investment of More Than Rs 8.5 Lakh Crore Through 67 MoUs

A portfolio of 67 proposed Memoranda of Understanding has been prepared for the launch of ‘Invest Maharashtra’, through which investment of more than Rs 8.5 lakh crore and opportunities for more than three lakh direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created. The investments include important future-oriented sectors such as data centres, semiconductors, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defence, healthcare and agricultural processing.

Chief Minister Fadnavis appealed to the industry to ensure that the benefits of the proposed investments are not limited only to large industries but also reach local small and medium enterprises, suppliers, youth and farmers. Large industries should provide opportunities to local industries in their supply chains, work with institutions to provide the necessary skill training to youth and contribute to the expansion of local industries, he said.

Path Cleared for Development of Mumbai-3 and Mumbai-4

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the MMRDA has completed the Existing Land Use (ELU) work covering around 2,100 sq km for the development of Mumbai-3 and Mumbai-4, describing it as the fastest ELU process completed in India. He said the work would strengthen the foundation for the planned development of both cities.

He said the government’s objective is to take development opportunities to all parts of the state, as investment proposals have been received from various regions including Chandrapur, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Pune, Ahilyanagar, Ratnagiri, Palghar and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Moving Towards a ‘One Trillion Dollar’ Economy

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra aims to benefit from the new opportunities emerging from India’s development and build a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030. This objective means more productive industries, rising incomes of citizens, empowered districts and confidence among youth to build their future in Maharashtra itself. Every investment should contribute to this objective, Chief Minister Fadnavis said.

He also said work is underway through initiatives such as Education City, Medicity and AI and Innovation City to bring together industry, skills, research, healthcare and technology.

Industries Should Also Take the Lead in Water Conservation Along With Investment

Chief Minister Fadnavis appealed to the industry to look at the problems of farmers and families in areas facing difficulties due to low rainfall with a sense of social responsibility. He said the industry should make generous contributions to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and use its research and engineering expertise for water conservation, efficient irrigation and wastewater reuse.

Investment commitments have been made through the ‘Invest Maharashtra’ programme today, which will give a new direction to Maharashtra’s industrial development. Maharashtra’s industrial strength is giving significant momentum to the country’s industrial revolution. The confidence shown by entrepreneurs in the state and the investment commitments made today are symbols of Maharashtra’s industrial potential, he said.

The Industries Department will extend all possible support to investors. A simple and supportive working system is being implemented through ‘MAITRI’ to resolve the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs. Officers of the Industries Department are ready to understand entrepreneurs’ problems and resolve them, Dr Samant said.

Invest in Maharashtra, Join the Journey of Development – Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal

Mumbai is a city of dreams as well as opportunities, and Maharashtra has always welcomed successful industries from across the country. Although various states offer investment options, the large MoUs signed in Maharashtra underline the state’s investment potential, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said.

‘Invest in Maharashtra’ will be an effective medium for providing guidance and facilities to investors through the processes of various government departments. Under the guidance of visionary political leadership, the administration is committed to creating an investor-friendly environment, and entrepreneurs investing in Maharashtra are welcome in the state, Chief Secretary Agrawal said.

Integrated Facilities for Investors Through ‘Invest Maharashtra’ – Industries Principal Secretary P. Anbalagan

Industries Principal Secretary P. Anbalagan said that investment must be promoted to utilise Maharashtra’s economic potential and infrastructure and achieve the goal of a trillion-dollar economy. For this purpose, ‘Invest Maharashtra’ will function as the state’s apex industrial investment promotion and facilitation organisation.

Anbalagan said the key objectives of ‘Invest Maharashtra’ include attracting investment, increasing investor confidence, enhancing Maharashtra’s global visibility and coordinating among various government departments, while providing investors with confidence in clarity, speed and good governance.

Investor promotion, facilitation, global partnerships, research, analysis and investor relationship management will be brought together on a single platform. The organisation will not function as an alternative to existing institutions but to bring Maharashtra’s collective strength onto one platform.

Strategic efforts are underway in sectors such as Global Capability Centres (GCCs), gems and jewellery, animation-visual effects-comics-gaming, bamboo, bioplastics, electronics and semiconductors. Emphasis will also be placed on promoting balanced regional development in emerging districts.

‘Invest Maharashtra’ is not merely about branding or the creation of a new organisation, but an institutional investment in Maharashtra’s future economic opportunities, Principal Secretary Anbalagan said.

At the Invest Maharashtra programme, Adani Group Managing Director Pranav Adani, Essar Group CEO Prashant Ruia, Mahindra Group CEO and Managing Director Dr Anish Shah, Kirloskar Systems Private Limited Chairperson and Managing Director Geetanjali Kirloskar, and Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited Managing Director Balakrishnan Prabhakaran also shared their views.
