Nemra, Jharkhand: Chief Minister Hemant Soren listened to the grievances of people who visited his ancestral village of Nemra and directed officials to take prompt action to address their concerns. Among those who approached him was Ramkishun Besra of Bharche Nagar in Beratand, Ramgarh district, who sought financial assistance for the treatment of his approximately six-year-old son, Anup Besra.
Taking note of the family’s difficulties, the Chief Minister provided a cheque for ₹10 lakh to support the child’s ear treatment under the Chief Minister’s Serious Illness Treatment Scheme. All the necessary formalities were completed within 48 hours, and the financial assistance was handed over to the family in Nemra.
Anup is undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. According to the family, doctors have advised replacing the child’s inner ear, a procedure expected to involve substantial expenditure.
A few days earlier, Anup’s father, Ramkishun Besra, had met the Chief Minister in Nemra and explained the financial difficulties the family was facing in arranging the required treatment. He requested assistance to ensure that his son could receive the necessary medical care.
After hearing his appeal, Chief Minister Soren directed the authorities to complete the required procedures and provide assistance. The Ramgarh district administration acted promptly, completing the formalities within two days and ensuring that the cheque was handed over to the family.
Ramkishun Besra said the financial assistance would provide considerable support in meeting the expenses of his son’s treatment.
The Chief Minister is currently in his ancestral village of Nemra in connection with the rituals following the death of his mother, the late Rupi Soren. While a large number of people have been visiting the village to pay their respects, many residents have also approached him to raise personal and local grievances.
During these interactions, Soren met people individually, listened carefully to their concerns, accepted their applications and instructed the concerned officials to take appropriate action for their resolution.
The assistance provided to Anup’s family highlights the administration’s response to an urgent medical request, with the required financial support arranged within 48 hours.
