Konkan Railway to Restore Non-Monsoon Timetable from October 21

Mumbai, October 2026 : Train services across the Konkan Railway network will return to their regular non-monsoon timetable from October 21, with revised arrival and departure timings for several passenger trains following the withdrawal of seasonal safety restrictions.

The monsoon timetable, introduced on June 15, imposed speed restrictions along the route as a precaution against rain-related accidents. With the monsoon period ending on October 20, the railway network will resume its regular operating schedules from October 21.

One of the key services affected is the Matsyagandha Express, which connects Mangaluru Central with Mumbai.

Train No. 12620, operating from Mangaluru Central to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, will now depart at 2.20 pm instead of its existing departure time of 12.45 pm. In the reverse direction, Train No. 12619 will reach Mangaluru Central at 7.40 am, earlier than its current arrival time of 10.20 am.

Timings for the CSMT Express and Vande Bharat services will also be revised as part of the schedule changes.

Several other long-distance services operating along the Konkan Railway route, including Rajdhani, Humsafar and weekly express trains, will likewise return to their non-monsoon schedules.

The monsoon timetable is implemented annually to enhance operational safety during periods of heavy rainfall, when track conditions and weather can affect train movement. The restoration of regular schedules is expected to bring changes to journey timings for passengers travelling along the coastal railway corridor.

Passengers planning journeys from October 21 onwards have been advised to check the updated schedules before leaving for stations to avoid inconvenience. The revised timings will apply to trains departing from their respective originating stations on or after October 21.

Updated arrival and departure information is available through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES). Passengers can also contact the railway helpline at 139 for the latest timetable details.

Railway authorities have urged travellers to verify their train timings in advance, particularly those using long-distance services connecting Mumbai with destinations along the Konkan coast and in coastal Karnataka.
