Chief Minister performs rituals at his official residence in Bhopal
Prays for the state’s prosperity, peace and security
Bhopal, Oct 2026 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav performed Kanya Puja (worship of young girls) and Shastra Puja (worship of weapons) at his official residence, CM House, on October 20, marking the occasion of Vijayadashami.
Through the rituals, the Chief Minister conveyed the message of strength, courage and protection of dharma. He prayed for the prosperity, peace, security and well-being of the state.
After the ceremony, Dr Yadav extended his greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh and the country on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
He said India was progressing steadily under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that the Madhya Pradesh government was continuously working towards public welfare.
Emphasising the importance of democracy, the Chief Minister said citizens’ rights could be effectively protected only when the country possessed the strength to safeguard them. He praised the armed forces for their sacrifices in upholding India’s honour and dignity, adding that their contribution had strengthened the world’s largest democracy.
Follow Lord Ram’s ideals in daily life
Dr Yadav said Vijayadashami was an occasion to remember Lord Ram’s struggle and his victory over Ravana, traditionally associated with the establishment of Ram Rajya.
He urged people to imbibe the ideals and values reflected in Lord Ram’s life and work towards the welfare of every section of society.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that poverty and suffering would be eliminated and that happiness, prosperity and well-being would reach every household. He extended his heartfelt wishes to all residents of the state.
Government celebrates festivals collectively
Dr Yadav said the state government had decided to celebrate festivals collectively at the official level to promote social participation and unity.
As part of the initiative, Shastra Puja ceremonies were being organised at different locations, with ministers also scheduled to visit various districts.
He also noted that Vijayadashami marked the foundation day of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and extended his greetings to its volunteers, along with the people of Madhya Pradesh and the country.
