‘Muslims Are Fighting Muslims, Communists Are Fighting Communists, Christians Are Fighting Christians’: Yogi Adityanath

Gorakhpur, October 2026 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that while conflicts were taking place within religious and ideological groups across the world, India was providing security to people of every caste, community, faith and religion under the umbrella of Sanatan Dharma and advancing towards prosperity without discrimination.

Addressing the coronation ceremony of Lord Ram at the Mansarovar Ramlila Ground, organised by the Shri Shri Ramlila Committee, Aryanagar, Yogi Adityanath accused those attempting to divide society along caste, regional and linguistic lines of carrying the “spirit of Ravana” within them.

He alleged that forces opposed to India's unity and strength were spreading misinformation about the country, adding that such forces operated both within India and with support from outside the country.

Extending Vijayadashami greetings, the Chief Minister said that whenever India became weak because of conspiracies to divide society, religious and cultural landmarks such as the Ram Janmabhoomi, Krishna Janmabhoomi and Kashi Vishwanath Temple faced humiliation. He also referred to the destruction and plunder of the Somnath Temple and attacks on women's dignity as examples of what happened when the country was weakened.

In contrast, he said, a strong India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been able to restore its historical and cultural pride, including through the construction of the grand Ram Temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, whose dignity, he said, had been undermined 500 years ago.

Yogi Adityanath questioned how those seeking to weaken India could tolerate the grand celebrations of Deepotsav in Ayodhya and the construction of the Ram Temple. He alleged that such individuals were attempting to spread confusion and disinformation about Ayodhya without having even visited the temple to seek the blessings of Ram Lalla.

Referring to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, the Chief Minister accused those who had ordered or supported the firing on Ram devotees and committed atrocities against them of now invoking Lord Ram's name.

He compared them to Kalnemi, a mythological demon who, according to the Ramayana tradition, deceptively chanted the name of Lord Ram. He urged people to recognise what he described as modern-day Kalnemis.

‘The country must be secure for religion and society to be secure’

The Chief Minister said people must remember that the country's security was essential for the protection of religion and society.

“No individual, society or caste can remain secure unless India is secure. Unless Sanatan Dharma is secure, no one is secure,” he said, according to the address.

He cited conflicts between Shia and Sunni Muslims, ideological disputes among communists, and tensions between religious and ideological groups in different parts of the world. He argued that India, under the protection of Sanatan traditions, was safeguarding people belonging to different castes, communities and faiths while enabling them to progress without discrimination.

Yogi Adityanath described this approach as reflecting the ancient Indian philosophical ideal, “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah” — may all be happy and free from illness.

He said Prime Minister Modi had expressed the same principle in simpler terms through the slogan, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” emphasising collective participation and development for all.
