Dehradun, October 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday participated in the ‘Uttarakhand Uday Conclave’, organised by HNN News Channel at a hotel near the ISBT in Dehradun.
During the event, the Chief Minister responded to questions on various issues and outlined the state government’s achievements, key decisions and ongoing initiatives for Uttarakhand’s development.
Over 35,000 government jobs provided in five years
Dhami said the state government was consistently working to secure the future of young people and create better employment opportunities for them. He said the implementation of a stringent anti-copying law had ensured greater transparency in recruitment processes.
More than 35,000 young people had been provided government jobs over the past five years, he said, adding that the government was committed to ensuring that employment opportunities were offered to candidates on the basis of merit and hard work.
Uniform Civil Code strengthens women’s rights
The Chief Minister said Uttarakhand had become the first state in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He described it as a significant step towards women’s empowerment and equal rights, adding that the legislation had provided greater legal protection to women’s rights.
He said the state government was also working to make women economically empowered and self-reliant. Various schemes were being implemented to connect women with employment and self-employment opportunities and improve their livelihoods.
Zero-tolerance policy towards corruption
Dhami said the state government was following a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. A toll-free helpline, 1064, had been established to enable citizens to register complaints related to corruption.
Ensuring transparency and accountability in governance and administration remained a key priority, he said, warning that no individual involved in corruption would be spared.
Over 59 lakh pilgrims visit Char Dham
Referring to the Char Dham Yatra, the Chief Minister said more than 59 lakh devotees had visited the pilgrimage sites during the current year.
He said the growing number of pilgrims reflected the faith and confidence people placed in Uttarakhand. The state government was continuously working to ensure that the pilgrimage remained safe, convenient and well-organised.
Facilities related to roads, healthcare, traffic management and security along the pilgrimage routes were being improved, he said. The government was also promoting other religious destinations and tourist attractions to generate new employment and self-employment opportunities for local residents.
Development under PM Modi’s guidance
Dhami said Uttarakhand was progressing steadily on the path of development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In line with the Prime Minister’s guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” (Together with all, development for all, trust of all and efforts by all), the government was working to ensure that the benefits of development schemes reached every section of society.
He said the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” strengthened the country’s unity, integrity and rich cultural heritage. Uttarakhand, too, was moving forward on the development path while preserving its cultural traditions and heritage.
The Chief Minister said the government’s objective was to ensure that the benefits of development reached even the last person in society. Special attention was being given to employment for young people, women’s economic empowerment, tourism expansion, and improvements in education, healthcare and basic infrastructure.
Dhami reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to making Uttarakhand one of the country’s leading states through public participation and collective efforts.
