Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state government has taken several farmer-centric decisions and organised various activities during the Year of Farmer Welfare to promote farmers' welfare. The state is making new agricultural technologies available to farmers to improve productivity and incomes.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav virtually addressed the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav organised in Umaria district from Mantralaya on Wednesday. He said Umaria is known for its coal reserves, or ‘black gold’, while the historic Bandhavgarh Fort is a symbol of Madhya Pradesh’s heritage. The district is also rich in natural medicinal resources and wildlife.
Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Minister of State for Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel and State President of the Kisan Morcha Shri Jaipal Singh Chouhan, were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said new agricultural technologies and food processing are being promoted to help farmers secure better returns for their produce. He said adequate irrigation facilities are essential for better farming and that the state government is committed to providing irrigation water to every village and every field.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged farmers to register on time for the procurement of paddy and Shri Anna crops so that they can avail themselves of the benefits of the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He said farmers would receive 10 hours of electricity during the daytime for irrigation from the current season. He also directed the district administration to organise Kisan Chaupals and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of welfare schemes.
Farmers Urged to Avail Full Benefits of Welfare Schemes
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged farmers to increase their income by taking up dairy farming, milk production, food processing, horticulture and organic and natural farming. He informed farmers in Umaria that a major food processing unit would soon be established in the district, creating new employment opportunities for youth. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the district administration to expedite the registration of milk collection committees at the panchayat level. He also urged farmers to avail themselves of farmer welfare schemes such as Custom Hiring Centres and solar pumps.
Benefit of Free Property Registration
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Seva Se Sankalp Abhiyan is being implemented in the state to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public service. The state government is also ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of welfare schemes through the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan in districts.
Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, free registration of records pertaining to rural residential areas is being carried out. Farmers are also benefiting from the Swamitva Yojana. With legal registration of their property, beneficiaries will be able to use the documents for obtaining bank loans and meeting other financial requirements.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the state government is providing several facilities to schoolchildren to build an educated and prosperous Madhya Pradesh. Meritorious students of government schools have been provided laptops and scooties, while free textbooks, uniforms and bicycles are being distributed to students of primary and secondary schools. Sandipani schools have also been started across the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also interacted with Minister Shri Nagar Singh Chouhan and former Minister Smt. Meena Singh, who were present in Umaria for the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav. A large number of farmers and local residents attended the programme.
