New Delhi, October 2026 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday issued an advisory for candidates preparing to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027, urging them to keep their DigiLocker credentials and essential documents ready before filling out the online application form.
The online registration process for JEE Main 2027 began on October 24, and candidates can submit their applications until November 22. The examination will be conducted in two sessions — January and April 2027 — for the academic session 2027-28.
In a post on X, the NTA advised candidates to follow three key steps to ensure a smooth application process. Applicants have been asked to use their own DigiLocker or JanParichay credentials, complete DigiLocker re-KYC in advance and ensure that their name and date of birth exactly match the details mentioned on their Class 10 certificates.
The agency urged candidates to exercise caution while submitting their applications and verify their details carefully to avoid potential complications during the registration process.
According to the NTA, JEE Main comprises two papers designed for admission to different undergraduate programmes across the country.
Paper 1 is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering courses, including Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and institutions or universities funded or recognised by participating state governments.
Paper 1 also serves as the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Paper 2 is conducted for admission to undergraduate programmes in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and Bachelor of Planning (B.Planning).
The January session of JEE Main 2027 will be held across multiple shifts on January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28.
As per the examination schedule, November 22 is the last date for submitting the application form, while November 26 is the deadline for completing examination fee payments with a late fee through credit cards, debit cards, net banking or UPI.
The NTA plans to announce examination city details on December 30. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the agency's official website until January 13, 2027.
The NTA has advised aspirants to complete the necessary preparations well in advance and carefully follow the prescribed registration guidelines to ensure a hassle-free application process.
