New Delhi, Sept 2026 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has relocated its office from Okhla in south Delhi to a new facility at Minto Road in central Delhi, an official said on Monday.
In a circular, NTA Director, Administration, informed candidates, students, educational institutions, stakeholders, service providers and the general public about the change in address.
“All future official correspondence and communications” should now be sent to the agency’s new premises at the 5th Floor, Government of India Press Building, Minto Road, New Delhi – 110002, the official said.
The relocation comes as the NTA continues to work on strengthening India’s public examination and assessment ecosystem. The agency has been exploring the use of technology to make examinations more robust, efficient and adaptable to emerging challenges.
On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit 2026, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh had proposed greater cooperation among BRICS nations in the education sector, particularly in addressing the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on students.
Singh said students and the wider education sector were facing challenges arising from the increasing adoption of AI technologies. He noted that several countries were considering restrictions on the use of AI, particularly among school and college students, amid concerns that excessive dependence on technology could affect cognitive thinking.
He suggested that countries could work together to develop common frameworks and assessment mechanisms to address these challenges.
Singh also highlighted India's ongoing efforts to consolidate and strengthen its public examination systems. According to him, the country is currently focused on improving the way examinations are conducted and building stronger systems for students.
Once these systems are sufficiently strengthened and refined, India could explore sharing its experience and expertise with the international community, he said.
The NTA chief suggested that India's assessment and testing framework could eventually emerge as another digital public good or a component of digital public infrastructure.
“We are in the process of consolidating and strengthening our own systems,” Singh said, adding that the immediate priority was to improve examination processes for students in India before taking the experience to a wider global platform.
He also pointed to the scope for implementing the Delhi Declaration adopted at the BRICS Summit, particularly in areas involving technology, knowledge-sharing and the exchange of best practices.
Singh said India could explore ways to share successful technological initiatives and practices showcased during the summit with other BRICS members.
The proposed cooperation could provide a platform for countries to exchange expertise on examination technology, assessment systems and responsible use of AI in education.
For the NTA, the focus remains on creating a reliable and technology-driven examination ecosystem. The agency conducts several major entrance and eligibility examinations across India and has increasingly relied on digital tools to manage large-scale testing.
The shift to its new Minto Road premises marks an administrative change, while the agency's broader agenda remains centred on strengthening examinations in India and potentially taking its experience and digital assessment capabilities to the global community.
