Recommendation to suspend licenses of two health supplement manufacturers in Kanpur and Greater Noida

Serious irregularities found in inspections of both firms

Action recommended against KSB Life Cares of Kanpur and Urmilife Science of Greater Noida

Nutraceuticals and health supplements found being manufactured without batch manufacturing records

Food safety department collected samples and sent them for testing

Lucknow, October 2026 : To ensure the quality of food products and the protection of public health in the state, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) has intensified enforcement action. In this sequence, two firms manufacturing nutraceuticals and health supplements were inspected in Kanpur Nagar and Gautam Buddh Nagar. After serious conditions were found during the inspections, it has been recommended that the licenses of both firms be suspended.

The inspection of M/s KSB Life Cares, Shrinagar, Pahadpur Bingnawa, Kanpur, was carried out by a mobile squad of food safety officers led by Chief Food Safety Officer Sanjay Pandey. Since serious non-compliance was found during the inspection, samples were collected in the public interest for laboratory analysis, and seizure action was also taken. The mobile squad has recommended suspension of the firm's license.

Similarly, M/s Urmilife Science, Site-V, Kasna Industrial Area, Greater Noida, in Gautam Buddh Nagar, was inspected. Here too, serious conditions came to light during the inspection. Samples were collected on the spot for laboratory analysis, and seizure action was taken. During the inspection, it was found that the firm was manufacturing nutraceuticals and health supplements without batch manufacturing records. Certificates of analysis for the ingredients used in these products were also not available.

In addition, the food business operator did not produce test reports of the finished products or the necessary records related to batch release. The food business operator had handed over the finished products to the concerned re-labeller without obtaining analysis reports from an NABL laboratory. This situation was classified as a very serious non-compliance.

Several other anomalies related to the manufacturing, packaging and labelling of food products were also found in the manufacturing unit during the inspection. The inspection team has recommended suspension of the firm's license in its report. The objective of this action by the food safety department is to ensure compliance with the prescribed standards in the food business and to protect the health of consumers.
