Special Camps to Be Held at Polling Stations on October 17, 18, 24 and 25
Deadline for Claims and Objections: October 26
‘1950’ Helpline Launched to Assist Citizens
Mumbai, October 2026: A special campaign is being conducted across Maharashtra by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, in coordination with the Election Commission of India, to ensure that no eligible voter in the state is left out of the electoral rolls.
As part of the campaign, special camps will be organised at all polling stations across the state on October 17, 18, 24 and 25, 2026. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has appealed to citizens to make use of these camps, check their names in the draft electoral rolls and, wherever necessary, submit applications for registration or correction in the prescribed format, either offline or online, by October 26.
For the effective implementation of the campaign, 36 District Election Officers, 288 Electoral Registration Officers, 7,100 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and 1,00,253 Booth Level Officers are working across the state.
On the days of the special camps, Booth Level Officers will be present at polling stations to guide and assist citizens with voter registration, corrections to names and other necessary procedures.
Form 6 can be used to apply for inclusion of a name in the electoral roll. Form 7 should be used to request the deletion of a name from the electoral roll. Form 8 can be submitted to report a change of residence, correct details in the electoral roll, obtain a replacement Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC), or register as a voter with a disability.
Voter registration and correction of electoral roll details are ongoing processes throughout the year. Therefore, eligible new voters and citizens whose names are missing from the draft electoral rolls can apply for registration using Form 6.
Citizens have been urged to verify their names and other details in the electoral rolls and submit the necessary applications within the prescribed deadline.
If citizens face any difficulties or have complaints regarding checking their names in the electoral rolls, filling out Form 6 or completing the registration process, they can contact the 1950 helpline.
They may also approach the district-level help desk at the office of the District Election Officer during working hours or contact the help desk at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer for their respective Assembly constituency.
