Raipur, Sept 2026: Talented students and teachers from Chhattisgarh who recently returned after meeting President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his official residence in Raipur on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the students shared their memorable experiences from their visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and their interaction with the President. Chief Minister Sai congratulated them on the special opportunity and said that representing Chhattisgarh at Rashtrapati Bhavan was itself a matter of great pride.
He praised the students for showcasing the state’s talent, confidence and rich cultural heritage, saying their achievements had brought honour to Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister interacted warmly with the students and asked them about their experiences during the visit. The students said meeting President Droupadi Murmu had been an unforgettable experience. They said the President spoke to them with warmth and simplicity and took an interest in their education, interests and future aspirations. They also shared their experiences of visiting Rashtrapati Bhavan and the memorable moments they spent there.
CM Sai said Chhattisgarh’s children possess immense talent and potential and can bring recognition to the state in every field if provided with the right opportunities, encouragement and platforms.
He said such opportunities help students develop confidence and give their dreams new direction. He encouraged them to continue their studies with dedication, set ambitious goals and work consistently towards achieving them.
The students and teachers had received the special opportunity to meet and interact with President Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. During the interaction, the President spoke affectionately with the children, appreciated their talents and encouraged them to move forward in life.
One of the most emotional and memorable moments came when President Murmu personally tied a Rakhi on CWSN (Children with Special Needs) student Nukesh Kumar Verma. Her gesture of affection became a cherished lifelong memory for Nukesh as well as the students and teachers present.
The visit also provided an opportunity to showcase Chhattisgarh’s vibrant folk culture. The girl students presented the traditional Suwa dance, offering a glimpse of the state’s rich folk traditions, music and cultural heritage. President Murmu appreciated the performance and praised Chhattisgarh’s distinctive cultural traditions.
Chief Minister Sai said it was particularly gratifying that the state’s children had presented not only Chhattisgarh’s talent but also its rich cultural heritage at the prestigious Rashtrapati Bhavan.
He described folk culture as an integral part of the state’s identity and an invaluable heritage. He said when the younger generation embraces these traditions and presents them on prestigious national platforms, it gives renewed energy and wider recognition to the state’s cultural heritage.
The Chief Minister urged the students to draw inspiration from the President’s encouragement and the experiences gained during their visit. He wished them a bright future and encouraged them to dream big, move forward with confidence and make their families, state and country proud through their achievements.
The students who met President Murmu included Rajwati Poyam from Narayanpur, Himanshu Thakur from Sukma, Payal Rajani from Durg, Ragini Sahu from Mahasamund, Nukesh Kumar Verma from Raipur, and Durgesh Sahu and Digesh Sen from Mahasamund.
Also present on the occasion were Dr Mukti Bais, State Nodal Officer, Samagra Shiksha, Raipur, and Chandrashekhar Mithlesh, Lecturer (Physics), Government Ashi Bai Golchha Higher Secondary School, Mahasamund.
