Sachin Tendulkar and Family Invite PM Modi to Arjun Tendulkar’s Wedding
New Delhi, Feb 2026 : Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, accompanied by his family and the family of his son Arjun Tendulkar’s fiancée, Saaniya Chandhok, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday to personally invite him to the upcoming wedding of the young couple.
Sharing moments from the meeting on social media, Sachin expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s warm reception, blessings, and guidance for Arjun and Saaniya as they prepare to begin a new chapter in their lives. The former India captain posted photographs featuring both families with the Prime Minister, along with a separate picture of Arjun and Saaniya standing alongside him.
“We were honoured to invite Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple,” Sachin wrote in his Instagram post.
According to sources, the wedding celebrations are scheduled to take place in Mumbai, beginning on March 3, with the marriage ceremony set for March 5. The event is expected to be an intimate affair, attended by close family members and a select group of friends from both families, keeping the celebrations private and low-key.
Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary cricketer, is set to marry Saaniya Chandhok, an entrepreneur and qualified veterinary technician. The couple reportedly got engaged in a private ceremony in August last year, with only close relatives and friends in attendance. Saaniya is also the granddaughter of noted Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai and is known for her entrepreneurial ventures.
Meanwhile, Arjun continues to build his own identity in Indian cricket. A left-arm fast bowler and a handy lower-order batter, he has been actively involved in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League. He made his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa in 2022 and made an immediate impact by scoring a century in his maiden first-class match, underlining his all-round potential.
In the IPL, Arjun was first picked up by the Mumbai Indians in 2021 at his base price of Rs. 20 lakh, though an injury prevented him from featuring that season. The franchise re-signed him at the 2022 auction for Rs. 30 lakh. He made his IPL debut in 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders and claimed his maiden wicket by dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Sunrisers Hyderabad, contributing to a winning performance. Arjun went on to pick up two more wickets that season and was retained by Mumbai Indians for the 2024 edition.
Ahead of the 2026 IPL season, Arjun Tendulkar was traded to the Lucknow Super Giants, marking a new phase in his professional career as he continues to grow both on and off the field.
