A Mother’s Blessings and Overwhelming Public Affection: Chief Minister’s Birthday Celebrated with Warmth and Togetherness in Bagia
Raipur, February 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai’s 62nd birthday was celebrated with great enthusiasm, warmth and a deeply personal touch in his native village Bagia. The occasion reflected a blend of family affection, public goodwill and spiritual devotion, making the day both memorable and meaningful.
Upon arriving at his home in Bagia, the Chief Minister first sought the blessings of his mother, Smt. Jasmany Devi, by touching her feet. The moment symbolised the values of humility and respect that marked the celebrations.
Throughout the day, there was a steady stream of people arriving to extend birthday greetings and good wishes to the Chief Minister. Public representatives, government officials, employees and a large number of villagers gathered to congratulate him and pray for his good health and long life. Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Shri Sai thanked everyone for their affection, blessings and warm welcome, stating that the love of the people is his greatest source of strength. He said their goodwill made the occasion truly special and unforgettable.
Religious Observance at Ram Sadan
On this special day, a Satyanarayan Vrat Katha programme was organised at Shri Ram Sadan in Bagia. The Chief Minister, along with his mother Smt. Jasmany Devi, his wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai, and other family members, participated in the religious observance with devotion and reverence. They prayed for peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being for the state.
Even before the Chief Minister’s arrival, a large crowd had gathered at his residence in Bagia. There was visible excitement and eagerness among public representatives, officials and citizens to meet him personally and convey their wishes.
Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including MLAs Smt. Gomti Sai and Smt. Raymuni Bhagat, District Panchayat President Shri Salik Sai, District Panchayat Member Shri Krishna Kumar Rai, along with members of the district and janpad panchayats, panchayat representatives, urban local body representatives, and other public representatives. Senior officials such as Commissioner Shri Narendra Dugga, IG Shri Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Ummed Singh, and other officers and distinguished citizens also met the Chief Minister and extended their greetings.
Encouragement to Young Sportspersons
On the occasion, the Chief Minister encouraged talented girl students who have brought recognition to the district through cricket. He distributed 15 cricket kits to promising players from the Government Pre-Matric Girls’ Hostel, Ichkela, who have excelled at the national level through their outstanding performances.
Congratulating the students, Shri Sai urged them to continue moving forward with dedication, discipline and hard work, and to keep bringing pride to the state and the country through their achievements.
Greetings from the Pahadi Korwa Community
Members of the Pahadi Korwa community, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group from Bagicha, also met the Chief Minister to convey their heartfelt birthday wishes. Dressed in traditional attire and carrying bows and arrows, they presented a vivid glimpse of their rich cultural heritage.
During his interaction with them, the Chief Minister enquired about development works in their areas. The community representatives shared that rapid development activities are underway and that basic facilities in their villages have expanded through the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. They noted that the scheme has brought positive changes to their standard of living and transformed their regions.
Listening attentively, Shri Vishnudev Sai assured them that the state government remains fully committed to the all-round development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Communities.
